Weekend Support Staff?

Do they exist at all?

I've been trying for the past 24+ hours to resolve an issue with an account through a multitude of avenues (both conventional and not) and have at the very best received a "Thank you for your patience."

This isn't the first time I've struggled with the support staff and I've tried to remain calm throughout the process but their delayed responses have resulted in several days of missed game play due to issues on their end and it is starting to get frustrating.

I understand that over the weekend there is probably a smaller support staff but wouldn't an issue that complete prevents a player from playing the game they pay for take priority?

The issue we are having is that we received notice that our account was about to lapse so we resubbed. Everything was fine and dandy for about a day and while logging to switch characters, something happened and a warning popped up that our account has lapsed and we needed to resub. The plaync site says the account is playable until mid-august and the appropriate funds withdrew from our checking account. Has anyone else had this issue or something similar to it?

This thread will probably receive a lot of negative responses but this is so thoroughly frustrating. I just want to know if other people have had these issues as well. The few times I have dealt with support in the past they have been helpful, but over the past month or two, every encounter has just ended in frustration.

There is nobody in the accounting office on weekends. The only support staff that is available is Game Moderators. They can move your character if you get stuck, and complete in-game missions. Beyond that, you'll have to wait for somebody to actually get into work on Monday.

but according to their records the account is paid up....so that means there is an issue with the game, no?

not necessarily.

Just because the computer you can see says one thing doesn't mean that the computer that actually handles the subscriptions has that data. From the scenario you describe somebody will actually have to go in and clear your account in the game-servers.

Unfortunately, the earliest somebody will be available in the office to do that will probably be Monday at 8 or 9 am EST. The quickest time you can physically call and get somebody in the financial services would be 12 noon Central Time (11am EST). http://www.ncsoft.com/en/support/

i get that billing and support isn't in until monday. my issue is that the account deactivated. was then reactivated and playable for a whole day and then deactivated again.

again, i could be wrong but to me, that doesnt seem to be an accounting issue. that seems like an issue with the game.

i didnt say it was "my" account. it's my boyfriend's account. i'm posting on his behalf being as he can't use the forums due to the account issue.

but i shall see you in rf2009.

Trust me Sixy. This is an accounting issue. You will need to wait for somebody to get into the office. There is nothing the game moderators can do for you.

You've (or he's likely already gotten an "We're escalating this issue." email, which means they've forwarded it to the appropriate dept in Austin. He may or may not get an update on Monday.

Just make sure that he's logging in to his master Account and updating his support ticket with applicable info.

All else fails he can call them Monday 12-5 CT at (512) 225-6359.

Thanks for the replies. He has updated the support ticket several times but he hasn't received an email. I have however received some response after this posting of this thread. Mostly the "escalating" thing. I do still find it odd that he hasn't received any response yet though.

Nope, not at all. Financial and account issues are largely tied to banking agencies, who generally don't have Saturday / Sunday working schedules. There aren't enough issues occurring over the weekends for NCSoft to pay somebody to sit in the office and deal with one-off issues that have to wait for financial institutions to process.

So it's not idiotic at all for NCSoft to not having somebody in the office on weekends for these kinds of issues.

Now, if you want to talk about their limited operating hours? 12noon to 5pm only on weekdays? Oh yeah, now THAT's idiotic. if you have a job where you work during the day, you need to either take a long lunch break, or somehow get a mid-week day off.

If you run a service every day of the year, you should have people to handle problems that might arise every day of the year.

Also, your point about banks isn't really too valid. You can call Wellsfargo(one example) right now and talk to somebody. In fact, you can do that everyday of the year.

Could you call them at the weekend and ask for Mortgage Specialist (im assuming Wellsfargo is a bank since thats where this line has gone too) or a Loans Specialist, or could you just talk to someone and tell them your card has been stolen?

If we really wanna take this down a full analogy, hospitals, in general (and im talking about the bigger A&E hospitals, not just community hospitals that may close out of hours. But these are palces where lives depend on them being run 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. But even then, its only the essential stuff thats open out of hours.

6pm on a Friday afternoon is pretty much the same as 3 a.m on a Sunday morning so far as wanting to speak to somebody in Medico-Legal, it aint gonna happen. Sure you have a heart attack, you'll be seen, but need to urgently get your hands on some important stuff thats in filing, then good luck.
