For one thing, you HAVE to take Bash, tanks don't get the option to skip it. For another, you're skipping what are by far the two best attacks in the WM set, Clobber and Crowd Control. Bad, bad idea.

For Invul, I would recommend that you take everything from WM except Pulverize. If you absolutely can't fit in that many powers, I'd suggest you drop Build Up or Whirling Mace/Shatter--one of the two. But FWIW, I have two Mace tanks and both have eight of the nine WM powers, and I strongly recommend you do something similar if you want to get the most out of the set.

Trust me and Call_Me, you're looking for the defense soft-cap. The defense hard cap is not achievable without massive outside buffs, and defense above the soft-cap is not useful anyway, except in cases where your defense is being debuffed.

To clarify, the defense hard cap is the point beyond which the game mechanics will not let you have more defense. The soft cap, on the other hand, is the point beyond which more defense will not lower your opponent's chance to hit you, and is only useful so that any -def effects that do land do not drop you below the soft cap. Remember, any attack always has a 5% chance of hitting you, regardless of +def or -tohit.

The hard cap for defense is completely unattainable without massive outside buffs or a tray full of purples; it's on the order of 300%. On the other hand, it's also pointless in 99% of the game. 45% defense will lower the enemies' chance to hit you to the minimum possible unless those enemies have tohit buffs. Defense amounts over the 45% soft cap are ONLY useful if either:

A. The enemies have tohit buffs... Nemesis Vengeance, Devouring Earth Quartz buff pets or Ruarluu eyeballs (Shadow Shard). The DE Quartz and Ruarluu eyeballs have enough +tohit that it's impossible to floor them without truly massive, and IMO pointless, outside buffs. A well built Invuln won't have any trouble with any of these mobs, trust me on that.

B. Your defense is debuffed... things like Cimerorans and several other mobs can do this, but they almost all deal S/L damage which you can (and should) be at the 90% resist cap for, in which case it's very unlikely that the defense debuffs will threaten you.

In reading your comments I have to wonder if you're confusing the Resistance cap with the Defense cap? For a tanker the point at which you cannot gain further resistance is 90%, that's a hard cap. Resistance doesn't keep you from getting hit by attacks, it reduces the damage that you take from attacks that hit. Defense on the other hand reduces the likelihood of an attack hitting you in the first place and once you've reduced the chance of getting hit to the minimum possible adding more is pointless.

An Invuln tanker can reach the RESISTANCE hard cap of 90% to Smashing/Lethal damage by taking his core powers and Tough from the fighting pool. It isn't possible to reach the resistance cap to Energy/Negative/Fire/Cold without Unstoppable. On the other hand, it isn't necessary either if you've soft capped your DEFENSE to S/L/E/N at 45%.

I suggest you read my guide for the first 20 levels for a basic primer on the core powers of Invuln, the soft cap guide for how you can make your tank as tough as possible and one of the many guides on how defense works in the game. If you build your tanker well I can assure you that you'll be more than up for any challenge in the game.

You're exporting to the wrong format, you want the phpBB/Zetaboards option, I typically use the Fruit Salad colors. The Official Forums (vBulletin) option works as well.

Soft capped to S/L, Energy. Negative, Fire, & Cold. You can substitute out Hasten for Build up or SJ if you want, I just like using Ninja Run these days to get around.

You must be using the previous version of Mid's, the newest one no longer lists the official forums option for the old forums... the only "Official Forums" export is the vBulletin which is correct for our current forum software. I hadn't noticed that myself until I went looking just now.

You can either continue to use the Zetaboards export or grab the latest Mid's and use the Official Forums (vBulletin) option. The previous Mid's had two "official forums" options, one for the old forum and one for the current forum.

Still debating if my Inv/Mace build is where I want it. I wanted to have a Tank build that didn't take Tough and Weave for once (my tanking Fire/Fire build has it, as does my WP/DB Tanker, and my Shield Tanker has Tough), so I didn't go for those. I'm actually debating if I should rework it to get some more psionic defense and resists, as the only mobs that bugged this build much were psychic mobs... and that was before I rounded out all my S/L defenses.

I know it's not a l33t def cap build, just a different approach from what I have done and others do a lot with Tank builds. I'll probably stick with it just to be different, though I know I could maybe get more recharge, or drop some S/L defense for psionic resists and defenses (and pick up Tough). *shrugs*
