Non-Character Art Request

As some of you might recall, my wife and I are expecting a baby in a few months (around Halloween). We recently found out that "it" is really a "he" and my wife, God bless her, decided that the baby's room needs a 1950's robot/sci-fi kitsch theme to it. So she's found some robot bedding and is busy at work crocheting robot/rocketship plush toys to decorate the shelves until he's old enough to carry them around. And I know she's been looking for some sort of wall art but I thought it'd be cool to have something original.

This is the theme we're talking about: Google Image Link, GI Link 2

Baby-stuff purchasing has left me tapped for cash (oh, how I miss commissions...) but I was hoping if someone had the inclination they could do something up. Simple or complex as you want, my only request is that it be baby-room friendly (no horrific aliens or something) and that you're okay with my printing it for a simple frame job and inclusion in the nursery. No real time frame... I hoped that asking early enough might at least plant one or two seeds that, two weeks from now when you're bored, you might want to give it a shot.

Either way, thanks for reading and wish us luck!

My artistic abilities have dwindled to nothing and I have nothing really helpful to add except.....

Hi Jophiel. I'll talk to the artists I'm representing and try to work out something for you. They're a bit swamped right now, but I'll see what I can cajole them into doing. No promises though. Good luck!

I would LOVE to do arts for the baby's room! I'm really REALLY busy with commissions at the moment, so I don't think I can promise a piece get done before the auspicious birth, but whenever I get a smidge of time, I'm there.

Thanks to both of you and I'm not expecting anything so you won't disappoint. You know what I mean.

Wassy, everyone knows newborns aren't the best art critics anyway If you find the time before or after, that's awesome. If you can't squeeze it in, know that I'm thrilled for you to be so busy with paying gigs

Well, wassy's one of the people I'm working for so there you go. =P

You must be doing something right!

Would I be wrong to say this sounds a lot like Marvin Martian and Bugs Bunny style? You could probably find some neat stuff if you look in that direction. Tom & Jerry have done some work in a similar department. More often they look at the theme post moon landing though. If I'm not mistaken Flash Gordon, is pretty spot on too. If I got the right name there.

Roxy On DA...Finally!

I'm not representing them, but the creators behind The Underburbs (http://underburbs.deviantart.com/) have a fun robot comic called Mecho. It's really fantastic story-telling imo, and I managed to snag a signed edition of the comic and a colored sketch of Mecho for you, Jophiel. I think it'd be perfect for the room's theme.

That's awesome and thank you (and them!). I wasn't able to locate anything about the comic but I only tried for a moment since I'm at work. I'll have to look later but wanted to say thanks.

I'm still awaiting delivery but once I have the comic and the sketch, it's coming out to you, Jophiel. Hope you like it! Mecho is the creation of Joe Haley. =)
