Some Ideas from a New Player

Some more stuff from a new player.

5. I'd love to see some more 'emblems' in the game. I mean, the collection we have is pretty cool at the moment but there should be a bit more. Today I made a character who will most likely become my favorite of my 4 villains and 4 heroes, Artic Shark. I was looking for a chest emblem and was sad to find that the game lacked a Shark emblem. I'm pretty sure other people have emblems they'd like to see but aren't in the game.

6. Easier to add phrases for when switching outfits. I heard it can be done through macros but no one I talk to in game seems to know how to do it. I believe it would be nice to make it easier. Like, say you have an armored hero who is in his civilian outfit. You'd like to see him say Armor Up when changing to the armored suit, it seems to complicated to do at the moment. Maybe something in the costume change window that you can type in whatever phrase you want your character to say while switching.

/macro CC "local Armor up!$$cc 1"

I believe this would work ... Soneone will correct me if I'm wrong, though

0 is your default costume, 1 is your 2nd, 2 is your 3rd, etc ...

7. Customizable 'optional' powersets. I mean, it's cool that we can customize, to some extent, our secondary and primary powersets. It would be cooler if we can customize the other powersets as well when we get the powers.

They know already. From BAB's post, it sounds like power pools and APP/PPP's will be before EAT powers for customization.

Also, additional customization is unlikely before GR (post here).

Please search rather than posting random ideas. It will help with discussion.

EDIT - Forgot second link.

No offense, but your post came off as rude to me PennyPA.

Asking to search before posting so people can actually discuss ideas? As rude as yours apparently.

It didn't come out as asking.

To me it seemed like you were saying: Despite you being a new player, you must be an idiot for not doing exactly what I think and want you to do.

Then you have some interesting interpretations.

Oh well, GLHF. /unsigned to your ideas.

Look, it's the internet. It's not like we're talking face to face and can see eachother's facial expressions. No matter what you type/post on the internet, someone somewhere is bound to find it offensive/hostile.

PennyPA does have a point, however - it's considered standard etiquette to do a cursory search on these (and most other) forums before posting an idea/thread to make sure you're not retreading a dead horse topic or duplicating an existing active thread.

It is not unreasonable to ask that you do that, nor is it rude to point it out when you fail to do so. Now, if you're having trouble with searching the forums, that's another matter and we can help you do that more effectively. Nevertheless, if you do post a 'dead horse' topic, you should expect that people will react in that way - it's not unlike spending four hours explaining a complex topic only to have someone right next to you tap you on the shoulder and ask you the exact same question and say "oh, I wasn't listening before".

Several of these ideas are high-profile items that should have been easily found on a search (see the copy/paste on Vehicles above).

Then the logical thing to do is not read things as hostile. This goes for you, it goes for PennyPA, it goes for me, it goes for everyone on the internet.

If a sentence is said without a specified emotion attached to it, don't do the attaching for them.

Makes the blood pressure so much easier to regulate. I almost never get mad anymore because I pretend no one else is mad. Unless they're obviously ranting and raving and being drama-rrific.

You took what I said and twisted it into your own meaning. I wasn't saying it was pointless to read something as hostile, I was saying that you should always expect something you post on the internet to be viewed as offensive or hostile by someone else.

Which is why I said it should apply to everyone on the internet, which means if everyone used logic, no one would get mad, and no one would misread non-hostile/inoffensive text as something hostile/offensive. Et voila, a direct tie-in to your comment.

(Of course, "everyone on the internet using logic" will never happen. A girl's allowed pipe dreams, though... *sigh*)

(PS; it really, really *is* pointless to read something as hostile if it's not specifically hostile.)
