Find Zebidiah the Zombie hunter either in Dark Astoria or St. Martial tomorrow, Thursday, July 1st at 3PM Pacific (6PM Eastern) and help him find the love of his life before she succumbs to her captors.

This is not for the faint of heart so be sure to bring along your anti-Zombie equipment / abilities and team up with high level heroes or villains if you want to stand a chance!

No, no, that's an excellent question indeed. Don't be hatin' to ask it.

Also, can I DVR this event so I can play it at 7:30p CST? That'd be cool.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Pretty much the same as the last zone event, Kabara Kill or whatever it was. GM npc walks through a zone, tons various undead zombies like a halloween event plus adamastor(s) and then some lame rp'ing at the end.

Note: The GM's would be a huge liability in the event of a real zombie apocalypse.

While I word and think of things differently, I sort of agree with Hamster. For as atmospheric of a zone as Dark Astoria is, the pacing of the event was rather off. Rather than meeting at the graveyard and [Walk]ing through it, it might have had a bit more urgency to start much farther away yet make a mad dash with continued zombie spawns. Use the reduced visual distance as an advantage for the event. While you played off the Walk and managed to stay in character despite the heckling, in the end it took away from the story of having the guy as a zombie hunter, especially since he was in civilian wear as opposed to some form of combat gear. Also the "let's be zombies together" ending seemed cheesy and not in a good way.

Still, I'm glad you're still doing events and I hope the kinks get worked out of the ones in the future.

Let's be zombies together? I'm envisioning some kind of zone-wide Thriller dance. How did this work?

Could you be more specific? Like, what actually happened that was bad and lame?

  • The pace was way too slow. We were following an NPC using Walk. I get what he was going for since it was through the graveyard (first time I saw he actual entry gates for Moth Cemetery) but it just wasn't working. It felt like it was dragging rather than cautious. The RP reason was that he had previously been injured but it could be argued that regular non-Sprint movement would have worked, especially if he didn't have Swift.
  • The ending. After the event was over he found her and she claimed it was too late and had already been bitten by one of the zombies. He made a comment on how that there are vampires that hunt other vampires so there could be zombies who hunt other zombies. They'd work things out and be zombies together (I forget the exact wording). There's any number of ways it could have been done differently. Having her simply not get bitten, getting bitten but ambiguously commenting about finding a solution/cure, having her bitten and then attacking.

Well poo. I've always loved Dark Astoria and all the ghosts that fade when you stand too close. I thought they'd try something a lil more dark or creepy...
