Zone Stalker PvP Build Critique

I have an old Dark/Ninjitsu Stalker that I want to spec for zone PvP. How does this build look? I'm trying to keep the build within a "reasonable" budget, so no PvP IOs yet. My focus was ranged defense, a bit of recharge, KB protection and damage procs, but it's lacking in +recovery.

I'm not versed in the Dark side but I don't see anything obviously
wrong at first glance (I can't pull it up in Mid's at work).

1> Travel Power - check
2> AS + Placate early - check
3> Proc'd AS - check
4> Hide + Stealth + IO - check
5> Some form of Phase/Hibernate - check

You might want to fit a Reticle - Perception in there to help spot pesky
Defenders, Trollers and Blasters, but it's not a big deal - you can get additional
+Per other ways just as easily (ie. Base Empowerment) and /nin has some
built-in also.

It looks like you have a lot of -KB in there... If you're using a Scrapperish
playstyle or you arena a bunch, I can see it, otherwise, it may be a bit of
overkill - Stalkers can pick their spots, so it's not as critical an issue as it
might be for other vills (Mine only has -4 or -8 in it and does fine in-zone).

Defense might be a little bit light. It gets hit hard by DR, but more is still
better and you might be able to go a little lighter on Global Recharge. Again,
unless you're Srappering a lot, PvP fights are typically short - 1 (maybe 2)
passes through an attack chain and someone is dead, or it's time to consider
bailing for a better opportunity.

Otherwise, it looks like you've got all the key stuff covered...

i dont really play stalkers but i do know that with stealth running and no slotting in your travel powers you are going to be moving so, so very slow. pvp zones already feel like youre running 30% slower than pve zones, to go in debuffed would only amplify that feeling. i'd imagine it would make lining up AS alot harder than it needs to be too, but then again since its for zones i guess it wont much hurt your evasion since youll be supressed anyway after attacking or getting attacked.

There is one HUGE reason this build won't work. Then lots of other ones.

Turn on your toggles. Check your recovery, check your end drain.

I probably wouldn't build Nin staminaless without significant PvP IO investment. You're better off getting stamina, slotting health procs and building for Ranged defense, some +HP, +Recharge and some +dmg. Also probably want to make sure you have a little more KB protection so you don't get bounced around. Oh and travel speeds are huge for stalkers. Make sure your run speed is capped with the stealth penalty so you can AS anyone.

do you have enough end to fight with that build? If you have one travel power you can probably get through one attack chain...if you have both on you will be in the negative end wise.

how about this? if you want acro you could always swap it for Retsu or something. Oh and why would you use shadow punch over siphon life?

Yeah I ran a WP stalker staminaless without issue, but I picked up health and used Miracle and Numi's +recovery IOs.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yeah I wasn't very thrilled with the endurance recovery myself, so I opted for dropping Leadership and getting perception from other sources (insps and empowerent buff) because I do want to go for other Stalkers in WB.

This is just like yours with a slight tweak on some slotting. The travel powers were slotted way over max speeds. So I moved that slotting around a little along with the extra LotGs for the 10% regen, which I don't think will help you as much as, the little extra ranged defense, recharge, HP and less overall end use in the build below:

I probably wouldn't build Nin staminaless without significant PvP IO investment. You're better off getting stamina, slotting health procs and building for Ranged defense, some +HP, +Recharge and some +dmg. I couldn't pull his build up in Mid's to see recov numbers, but I can say
that my nb/nin is stamina-less and does ok... Mind you, I have all the attacks
slotted so that they have at least an SO of end reduction in them, and
I have several recovery set bonuses, so it takes a pretty extended fight
(fairly rare) to run his end down.

Certainly, the Fitness line has its uses, and provides some good spots to
get some nice set bonuses, but it's still viable to skip that pool if you plan
for the shortcomings.

I agree with you on travel speeds - you need to be able to keep up and/or
chase 'em down (or have a lot of patience) I'm also of the opinion that
a stalker who can't AS fairly regularly should consider a different AT, so
travel speed matters.

My earlier point on -KB is that in-zone, capped stealth is going to mitigate
most of the issue on -KB, and fight selection/timing helps with the rest.

Moreso than other villains, I feel stalkers are less constrained to the magic
41+ -KB plan... I know that's controversial, and as always, opinions and
mileage vary

I also agree with you on HP - I got the various accolades for mine and it's
been helpful.
