Hi folks,

I have noticed that when I zone into my Base, there is alot of the Shaking Effect going on, and Flashes, as if some one else in the SG is taking or adding items to storage. Yet, when I go through the Base, nobody is there but me. I have even immediately entered Edit Mode and zoomed out to see movement, but nobody is in there.

At first, I counted this as a possible side effect of the the new Ultra Mode Graphics. I know that they don't at this point apply to Bases, but Most folks have upped their Graphics Cards and turned up the settings. That can possibly cause the things I have described above.

But then, I have had Veteran Reward Display Cases start showing up in my Entry Room. I have checked with the other two leaders who have Base Editing Permission, and they tell me they have not put them there. One was working on his own room, and Claimed his vet Base Rewards for decoration, but placed them in that room. (Which is far removed from the entry).

I have since, renovated a space in the Base, and Claimed my Vet Reward Trophy Cases. I put them where I wanted them to go, and all was good. I log out.

Next day, I log in, and I have display cases all over the Entry Room, and Nobody put them there.

Is this a possible bug?

Is anyone else having this happen?

Actually, they do. Some of the effects don't apply in bases, but most of them do. Also, you may have noticed that various items have had their graphics updated.

Vet Reward base items show up in your personal inventory when claimed. *ANYONE* can place them in the base, anywhere they want. In order to move them after they have been placed, you need editing privileges. But anyone can drop them anywhere they feel like.

Yeah, speak to your SG members, someone was probably experimenting with the "add personal item" button.

You may also find the flickering you are seeing is the lights coming on, as it were. I have a wall off book cases in one of the rooms and when I enter the base they are all dark as if no light is on them and they light up one at a time.

As for the "Shaking Effect", are there any Ionizing Grates located near the area that you're experiencing it? I've noticed that when zoning into the base, editing, or crafting/accessing storage near the grates it causes a screen shaking effect. It looks a lot like the shaking from Foot Stomp. You can see it in action if you drag one of the grates around in the editor. Is that similar to what you've seen?

I have the flickering and flashes all the time and have for quite a long time now. I think it has to do with having a large base. It's like the whole thing is difficult to render and it takes time for things to settle down.

This would be my first guess as well. My base has one or two ionizing grates in it and I get the screen-shake every once in a while even when not interacting with anything, no matter where in my base I am. I have not experienced the flashing, however.

When my Base was passed to me by the then departing Leader, that was the first thing I deleted.

I am one of two people with base editing and the other touches nothing...

And yet some of my floors and ceilings had their heights altered, mostly in doorways with no stairs attached... it was freaky. He was there with me at the time and we were both o.O'ing about it.

The changes were completely random.

I've had the random floor and ceiling changes a couple of times in the past as well, although only in my Villain base (for which only I have edit rights). The first time it happened it only affected doorways, and each one had had the floor dropped as low as it could go and ceiling raised as high as possible. It only affected doorways that didn't have stairs or other objects butted up against them.

The second time it happened it had the same effect, but instead of it being contained to doorways it happened all over the base to any section of a room that didn't have items place on them. Was a real hassle having to go through the base room by room and returning everything to its proper heights.

Okay, glad I'm not the only one. I thought I was losing my mind in the middle of an RP session o.O

Thanks for the replies.

My work schedule has been hectic so this the first time I've had a chance to check on this thread.

The Ionization Plates are most likely causing the Shaking effect. I have one very near my Entry room. That just seems to be happening alot more frequently since I17, than before.

As soon as I posted this, I recalled that anyone can place Vet Items. it was a "Duh" moment.

I have recently recruited some new members, and they were most likely trying to help out.

The Flashes still puzzle me. The Base has been relatively unchanged for about a year now, and I know about the Lighting Lag, where the Base has to "Draw Itself" or render.

The Flashes I am refering to are like if two members are in the Base, and one is taking from a Storage Item, the Base will Flash. That is happening randomly as far as I can tell. I have been in the Base alone and seen the same flashing effect, as if someone is taking something from storage.

Most of my Base Storage is up for grabs to whoever, so if someone were taking it, it wouldn't be a problem.

The thing that got me curious was that I noticed there was no one else in the Base when the "Flashing" was occurring.

lol, I can live with it.

Thanks guys.

I have puzzled over base flashes in my base. Most of the rooms have default lighting and maximum heights and distant objects/walls etc sometimes flash as I move about the base. Flashing gets worse when I use the storage or enhancement bins.

Since i17 the flashing is worse and my toggles slow and pause when I use the bins.

The base is fairly big but the only "intensive" room should be the workshop converted to a lava room. It never flashes - possibly due to the lower lighting. The two large tp rooms have tech teleporters and have always flashed to some degree.

Somebody said it was due to bases having a memory leak.

Interesting... Is it since i17, or more recently?

The reason I ask, is because in these patch notes for June 8th, there is a note that they "fixed a rare crash bug in Supergroup Bases". As we know, sometimes when you fix one bug, another one shows up.

Has everyone /bug 'ed it in game? or popped over to the Tech & Bug forums to see if those folks might have some input?
