A strange thought about Fury

My current brute is nearly finished. He dinged 50 today, I've got most of his build slotted, and I've got most of my accolades. The current accolade I'm working on is Force of Nature, and the only badge I'm missing is the one for Arsons in Mayhem missions.

I needed 7 more of them when I started. I quickly realized that at my normal setting of +1x8, fighting through all the paper missions, and then through 2-3 spawns of cops to get to the Knives boss, then maybe one more spawn of cops, then the ambushes in the side mission, plus 1-2 Longbow ambushes, that I'd need 1-2 days to finish the badge.

So I turned my difficulty down to +1x1, and I've been running past everything straight to the objectives. Much quicker.

Here's the funny thing that just popped into my head though: Doing it this way, my Fury bar is almost at 25% by the time I finish the mission. I'm punching a minion 2-3 times to drop it after using Foot Stomp on the group. When I run at x8, my Fury bar fills way quicker, so I kill things faster, but there's more to kill, so I kill spawns slower.

So what is (in general) the fastest difficulty setting for brutes? The setting where there's enough enemies to really spike your Fury bar, but not so many that you're wasting a ton of time cleaning up extra enemies? I suspect that, in general, it's going to be around x3-4, but that may vary a lot depending on the level you run at (-1 to +4), and your power sets.

It does seem counter-intuitive that increasing the number of enemies would speed up mission completion, but I'm fairly certain that in most cases, it would.

Any Brute I have at L35+ needs to be able to deal with at least 0x6 enemies.

If not, it usually gets scrapped.

Find some low-damage minions in the mish and irritate them into following you, but don't kill them. Let them continue to attack you and contribute to fury. Then you can run +0x1 missions with a much higher fury bar.

Invulnerability tanker is similar: find a bunch of lowbies to activate your Def in Invulnerability, then you are much tougher. Big groups are easier than small ones for Invul.

As I said, I normally run at +1x8.

The question was: What is quickest for mission completion, since taking too few at once hinders Fury building and actually slows things down.

Prolly x4 or so. Not too many Lts and Bosses are rare enough to not slow you down too badly. Minions just melt away like butter so you basically can ignore them while working on the Lts and/or Bosses.

Too many Alts, not enough 50's. Story of my life...

It most likely varies by brute and build.

Also I suspect that actual testing is the best method to determine the answer.

Gonna vary a bit brute to brute, but I'd suggest any setting that gives you:
10 enemies if that is how many your aoe's hit
5 enemies if that is how many your aoe's hit
16 enemies if that is how many your aoe's hit

for absolute speed bosses off.

If I were just doing the mishes for speed, I'd drop it to -1/x6-8/Bosses off and zerg through. If you can't kill a single enemy fast, drag it to the next spawn and let them beat on you to build fury back up. Then just wipe them up with an AoE or two.
