Jumpin' June's Sf Shakeup

Inspired by Kult's TF challenge, I've decided to put together a strike force contest here on Protector.

Here are the 4 sf's :
Silver Mantis
Ice Minstral
Imperious Task Force
Lord Recluse

Unfortunately, due to population concerns, I won't be able to make the competition as open as the TF challenge, so here are the rules:

Teams will do all 4 SF's - the winning team is determined by lowest total time of all SFs with a +2 min penalty for EACH death. Strike Forces do not have to be completed all in one sitting since it is a total for each SF time.

SF will be run on standard difficulty. (+0x0)

Rules for teams: The teams must remain the same on each SF (# of members ; characters used) this keeps a bit of consitancy across the board.

Each team will have a captain - the captain does not have to be the leader of the SF - the captain will be responsible for taking a screen shot that includes the SF complete screen screen with time and deaths. The screen shot should also include the team window to verify team.

If we have a tie, we'll use the Leviathan SF (Temple of the Waters SF) aka the Eyeball SF as a tiebreaker.

Since there is a deadline in the future you have time to run the TF more than once..if you feel your time or deaths weren't great, you can re run as long as you have not submitted the screen shot. ONCE THE SCREENIE IS IN - THE RESULT IS FINAL

@Kid Engineer is ineligible for this contest -- If he (or an alt account of his) is on your team, your team is disqualified. Don't bother asking him. I've spoken to him about this and he approves.

No team can have more than 3 members of the "Rsf'er" group on it. I have bandied this number back and forth, but 3 seems about right. It encourages contribution without overwhelming the group.

Any member of the "RSF'er" group, if they win, will receive 1/2 prize and a HO for their trouble. Sorry guys, I'll make it worth your while, but I don't want to pass infamy out just in the group.

This contest will run from the time of posting until 12:01 AM July 5th, 2010. That gives you all a month and the 4th of July is on a Sunday

Once you've run the 4 SF's pm me here or ingame (@Huron) and I'll give you my email address of where to send your screen shots.

This doesn't exempt an account or even a character from doing this with a different team. If "Max the Mastermind" wants to do this on different teams with different people, go for it!

The prize will be of an infamy nature, however I do not want to announce it here and get into a up the ante contest with the Task Force challenge.





I know that Protector Redside can be a quiet place, and I hope that this encourages more people to play and team there. I am really hoping there will be a competitive challenge, and I won't have to award a default winner.

This is really cool Huron, a great idea!

It should be interesting to see what teams get put together and how everyone does at it.

I'll volunteer to start a team. If you'd like to be on my team send me a PM or a global tell with the character that you want to bring. My global is @Elric. Once I've got the team together we can decide on the day or days and times that are good for everyone and proceed from there.

I have been recruited for Tal's team. Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays are great days for me to run SFs.

I am available all weekend and during the week from 6 est to 10 est. Anyone wanting a Yeti on their team scream at me in game @Yetismash

A reminder that there is about 10 days left in the contest, and I haven't had anyone complete this yet. I know a couple of groups that need people to get going, so feel free to speak up here or in-game, and I'll try to get you in touch with team leaders.

Well, had a team complete 2 of 4 of the sfs before rl issues reared its ugly head and put the kabosh on our entry. Had to reform and run with 4 new teammates, but managed to get all 4 sfs done in a crazy sitting. I've got all 4 screenshots but will hold onto them a little longer since we may try and arrange a redo of certain part(s), schedule permitting.
