No. You don't do that, Leo. Bad puppy. You don't necro-post a 4 month old thread with an insult. You're trolling -and- bumping your own thread. Stop it or no treat for you.

If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck...

Also, it was only 3 months and 21 days, not 4 months.

Lastly, I'd appreciate if you stopped bumping with non-constructive posts. Either make a comment that's on-topic or just don't bother pressing reply. I'm not trying to be mean or controlling, but the thread stopped going anywhere when you threadjacked it in the first place so I'd rather not tread that path.

In before a possible lock.

Like the idea but I don't think it will be implemented. If you took out the big arm/guantlet idea and turned it into more of a fighting superiority type of armor set (IE you block their attack with one hand and casually backhand them causing them to fly back 10ft and land in a broken heap) you might get a more positive response. Basically someone with the armor set would be the kind of guy you throw a fireball at and he bats it aside with his bare hands, you swing a sword at him and he bats the blade aside without pausing in his stride, you throw a punch and he catches your hand and throws you off balance. No matter what you try to pull out your *** he always counters it like he knows what your gonna do before you even do it. As for explaining Hide there are martial skills which appear to the untrained eye as if the user just vanished. Its basically a more offense themed ninjutsu set but without the silly ninja stuff. (anything else>ninjas) No idea what you would call it though.

Work in progress no more. I have decided that I'm going to put my worst spelling errors here. Triage Bacon, Had this baster idea, TLR

I don't see why as the one nit-pick argument against the suggested customization was 'It doesn't explain why a Stalker is invisible' (when it actually does) and yet the ability of 'fighting superiority' doesn't explain while a Stalker can hide in plain sight either (or why he deflects attacks with bare hands, for that matter).

Also, adding new block animations would be required for that, where relying on a gauntlet could use the same shield block animations as SD.

But I think the point of a Shield Defense concept would be to use some piece of armor to block with...that's the reason you'd choose Shield Defense instead of Invulnerability when making your concept.

I'm gonna' break with tradition and agree with Leo unconditionally here. Large, bulky shields don't really work for Stalkers, at least visually, but a large gauntlet definitely would. I mean, if Enzio can do it, why can't my guy?

So it's a ripoff of Shield Defence. And? So what? It's a way to bring Shield Defence for Stalker without actually bringing shields to Stalkers. I call that Win/Win. Stalkers need a few new sets all to themselves, even if they're ripoffs of other AT's sets. They're still unique by virtue of AT.

As for gauntlets as shield options for other sets? Eh, why not. Broadsword already has most of the Dual Blades options and then some. So why not Shields?

Why not just bring SD to stalkers?

I like this idea. But I'm also fine with porting SD to Stalkers and adding the gauntlet graphic options to SD. To hell with the "it doesn't work thematically" crowd, it's easily explained on a per character basis.
