My simple solution to nuke crashes...
Started a thread wit it in it.
I didn't use anything that is out of line bonus-wise, so I doubt any nerfing will come of it. It's all stuff that is fair for the amount of slots invested. It gives up a little bit to do it too, so it's hardly overpowered. |
But I picked up where you failed and succeeded:-p
Cleaving blow is overpowered!!11 Nerf it plz11!!
To the OP:
currently I can overcome the crash. Under your system I can't. |
Edit: no, wait, it doesn't quite.
If my Blaster is not attacking, I'm worthless to the team. I'm not a buffer, debuffer, healer, taunter. I'm there to drop enemies. I carry about eight blues and reload between missions. I do a lot of shooting and a lot of nuking and I'm not going to slow down any time soon.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
Adrenaline Boost + RA. Heat Loss w/11+ hit. Transference. No, or very short, crash post-Nuke. Sometimes, my toggles won't drop, sometimes they will (pretty much always w/Transference).
Or, like everyone else says, just pop a few blues in case you don't play w/an Emp, Cold or Kin.
Under the OP's system, my blaster becomes useless for 15-25 sec no matter what my team makeup or my insp tray look like. What toggles does your blaster have that are so worth keeping over being able to attack (again, after a sufficient buff or insp)? World of Confusion? Weave? If your def-capped or close to it, most of it comes from IO bonuses, not your toggles. And does it really take you 15-25 sec to turn on all of your *blaster* toggles? Really?

Yep - I agree with the dissenters on this one, OP.
If we *must* have a penalty to offset Nuke damage (tired old dev saw on
Risk vs Reward), the straight-up nuke crash is preferable to your suggestion...
At least in the crash case, you have options to deal with it, and it doesn't
eliminate your ability to do something helpful and productive, unlike your idea...

For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
Or if you get very lucky you can hit your nuke and pop a blue before your end bar hits 0 and your toggles dont drop. Cannot say if this works for all nukes but I have been able to do this quite a few times with Blizzard.
Yea I would much rather keep it the way it is instead of having to several seconds of doing nothing.

returned from their attacks can (on rare occasions) avoid the crash - I've
not had that happen on my E3, but I've read anecdotal posts implying
it's possible.

PS> For the person who negged me for "Risk & Reward" - thanks... I really
appreciated your mindless "kill the messenger" approach because I said
something the DEVS have been spouting at us since Statesman was in
charge - were your powers of reading comprehension more astute, you
might have been able to infer from my phrase "tired old saw", that it isn't
necessarily a position I agree with - it's simply the reason devs have
stated for having the crash... Of course, don't let "thinking" interfere with
your approach to rating... Anonymous sniping suits you better...
