Level Pact & Patrolling

I noticed that as I level a character with a level pact that my blue bar of patrol exp decreases--not in the usual waym but that I get less of the boost. I read before that level pact exp has an odd interaction with patrol exp. Can anyone explain how this works?

Patrol(bluebar) gives +exp until used up
and if your leveling pact teammate isnt on your exp gets 1/2'd

Thank you for the reply. But that part I already know. My question is why am I not getting the full patrol exp that I've saved up? Why am I only getting half of the patrol exp (say 50% of a level after 10 days off line). The basic information said that the patrol exp is not shared between characters that are pacted, but I still don't understand why I'm not getting the full patrol bonus.

Patrol doesnt keep going up it stops at a certian point if thats what your saying

Edit:

It keeps people from just making chars logging off for 1 month then come back to a perma x2 exp toon

Maybe I'm misreading, but I don't think that is what the OP is asking. It sounds like he is saying that even after logging off for 10 days, he is not getting a full 10 bars (1 full level) of patrol XP.

Actually, I rather think it's working as intended, if I'm reading the OP correctly. Normally, patrol XP is earned just for your self, the purple bar replaces the blue as the bar fills (actually due to the effects of rounding, you can sometimes observe the blue bar reducing it's self by a point or so for every kill).

But when you're pacted you observe how the system really works;

You kill enemy Y, worth 1000 XP.
You are still under the effects of patrol, so that's increased to 1500 XP
1500 XP is reduced from the blue patrol bar.
(NORMALLY you don't see this, as the purple bar increases by 1500, pushing the end point of the blue bar exactly where it was before)
750 XP is awarded to you, and 750 XP is awarded to your level pact.
Net loss on the blue bar is 750 XP, so it gets reduced.

Also, Patrol XP pays off debt, so that will also reduce the blue bar.

... Unless you knew all this and there's some other oddity going on, but then you're going to have to be more specific...

Not getting to the full 10 bars of XP doesn't have anything to do with the leveling pact. If you happened to log out with debt, the patrol XP will cancel out the deb when you log back in 10 days later, and your resulting patrol XP will be less than what you might expect. You actually did get 10 bars when you logged in, but the debt was removed before you saw it.

If that's not what's happening, then I am not sure why you are getting different results.

Another possibility, since I'm not sure which member of the pact you're saying is missing XP.

Assume both characters are level 1 and have 0 XP. Both have been logged out for 10 days, so the entire bar is blue.

It takes 106 XP to level from 1 to 2. One player earns 212 XP, levelling both. Meanwhile, the other player has done nothing. That player still has 106 points of patrol XP, even though it now takes over 200 XP to level, meaning that he has slightly less than 5 bars of Patrol XP. This is most noticable at low levels, but if you logged in a character and checked to see that it does indeed have 10 bars, then logged it out and earned 10 levels on its pact mate, you might see a result like in my example.
