Best Solo combo?
Which mobs in particular are you hesitant to face with lethal damage?
I find if you avoid robots then lethal isn't much of a liability. That said, dm/nin is an astounding combo
Where to now?

don'T attempt to read tHis mEssaGe, And believe Me, it is not a codE.
I'd suggest a defensive powerset, Ninjitsu first because it's unique to Stalkers and having a def secondary with the second best self heal in the game (after healing flames, I'm excluding dark regen because I'm counting only the heals you don't depend on others) makes for a very survivable powerset.
I also like /EA a lot, but my EA Stalker is DM/EA so she has a self heal in siphon life. And I get to skip stamina
I wouldn't worry about going ninja blade, the lethal thing is that problematic.
I think I've decided on DM but I have a question, does the auto-crit out of Hide affect DoT's becuase I want to know if I could assassin strike someone and then placate->midnight grasp or if I'll have to use siphon life instead.
Also, SR versus ninjitsu, I can't decide between the two. I've never built a defense character, always resistence, and the difference to me seems to be wether I want more toggles or mor situational/utility powers.
Which would you suggest? I'm leaning towards SR for quickness.
SR has more toggles and higher defenses before you IO to softcap both (and it's easier to softcap Sr of course), and DDR, meaning you won't be affected by defense debuffs which are plentiful in the ITF for example. But /Nin is very cool looking and very survivable because of the heal. I actually only use Blinding Powder out of the ninjitsu 'toys', and only when I remember. /Nin makes for very loose builds compared to /sr.
I like both, I like nin better because I find it's more flexible for building and it looks much cooler. Since my Nin Stalker is EM/Nin, the heal is a wonderful addition.
But as dark melee you will have a heal in your attack chain even as /SR, so it's a great combo. The best for /SR I'd say.
And MG does a full crit, most of its damage is front loaded now after the dark melee buff. The MG crit will double the damage, doing better damage than a crit Total Focus and Energy Transfer in the end since Tf doesn't fully crit and ET's crit is just not losing hp with the attack.
So yeah, AS-Placate-MG will work wonders. As AS-Placate-Siphon in the earlier levels.
I would recommend /Nin over SR.
While SR does have higher defense and DDR values, /Nin has a heal and all the awesome toys it gets are fantastic. Blinding Powder is both a great power and set mule, Caltrops is great for messing with the AI and Smoke Bomb is pretty decent if you've got a spare power pick for it.
SR has Quickness, which is nice, but 20% recharge is easily made up with set bonuses. You can't make up a self heal every 30seconds with set bonuses
The nitty gritty stuff aside, I also just like /Nin a lot more than /SR. I had a DM/SR Scrapper and while the build was highly effective, I vastly prefer my DM/Nin Stalker. /Nin has style and character in bucketloads and all kinds of neat toys for you to play with. I find SR to be kindof a boring set, you just toggle up and you're good to go. Some people like that and more power to 'em, but it's not for me.
The Melee Teaming Guide for Melee Mans
Hi everyone! I've decided to make a stalker but I don't know which combo to choose (I'm pretty sure I want /ninjitsu) but with the super high lethal resistence at higher levels I don't know if I shouldgo nin/nin which is what I want to do.
Thanks in advance.
