Just add more offense and a good AoE immob (so things don't run away from the scrapper, esp if he uses Burn). Fire > Plant for more overall damage.

If the scrapper needs more help taking on, say, +0/x6 spawns, I'd consider */Cold. Great defenses, pretty much infinite end w/Heat Loss (esp combined w/Consume), and good debuffs for fast killing. Primary, again, Fire's prolly best, but Plant would give you more control.

Honestly, though, any controller combo will be able to pair well w/a Fire/Fire scrapper. The above would just be able to go through missions and whatnot a bit faster.
As I partially missed, its a fire/regen, not fire/fire fyi.

Oh, for Regen you can stick w/*/Kin for the increased recharge (which = more survivability for Regen) or again */Cold for more def. A high def Regen should be well nigh unkillable. Really can't go wrong w/either. */Son's good too, obviously, but I like Sleet more than DF + Siphon, and prefer the Cold shields, esp since you don't need the big bubble or Clarity as Regen. Then again, Regen doesn't really need Heat Loss as much either.

That is why I would say a /kin, since the fire/reg scrapper is going to have major endurance problems in the 20s/30s. Slot speed boost with some endurance IOs, and you will be helping him alot more then some minor debuff. But then I'm assuming the scrapper is a new to coh.

One of the only things /Fiery aura is short on out of the box is defense. Well, several things, but adding defense will make the biggest boost. Cold domination adds this, plus useful debuffs when fighting big baddies. I wouldn't really suggest forcefields, because it generally lacks the utility of cold domination.

Ok- now that I read it is a fire/regen, I still say cold dom. That or maybe even therm. Regen obviously shouldn't need to much on the straight up heals side of things, so I would think adding mitigation via some good ST ally buffs would be notable.

Why would any self-respecting Regen have "major" end problems? QR + Stamina by 20, you know. Even if he skips Stamina, he'll have better end recovery than most other scrappers w/Stamina. Now, the +recharge is huge for Regen, but the +recovery will be a side-thought.

Thank you both for your input, seriously. I see what both of you are trying to convey to each other and will take both into consideration. I have plenty of respecs, I am lvl 17 now, and have snow storm, quicksand, and stone cages for now. I find all very useful in different circumstances, but do not have the later powers yet to decide what is worthwhile, to me, and what is not. Your arguing has been very informative and will use both sides to lvl my dude up. Thank you for the entertaining dialogue which I have been following since my OP. You all rock!!!

To each his own if you say, but I love the earth/sonic combo, earth/thermal, meh.

Earth/Thermal is an outstanding combo.
