Multi Arc
Personally I will not make the commitment. If the first arc doesn't have a conclusion of some sort, I won't continue and will rate it lower, and if the description flat out says it's a multiparter I won't even start it.

I had a trilogy that did reasonably well (didn't get a lot of plays, but who does nowadays?).
The first part had about 30 plays, the second had 15, the third had 7. A very clear halving at each point.
The key, I think, is giving each arc a 'mini' conclusion.
I have a story Idea, but 5 missions is not enough for me to tell it the way I want it. Heck 10 missions is still taking away from what i want to achieve. |

There's the Galactic Protectorate series that I've seen a couple reviewers take on several parts of. It's currently 6 arcs long with more possibly on the way.
Each piece of the story should stand on its own, ideally. I know I don't play multi-part story arcs simply because I don't want to relive the something like Crimson's never ending missions without getting some merits or something out of the deal.

I forget where but I saw one that the person did use the multi-part to give you a choice. End the first mission by doing X and start mission B for the conclusion. End by doing Y and play mission C instead to see how that decision turned out.
I don't really see myself playing any other form of sequel or trilogy. But I'd gladly play another one structured like that.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Yeah... er.. I'm guilty of writing Multi Arcs. Lib and State was 15 missions; I think the one I'm working on now might be even more, but that's due to file size and all the custom characters in it.
Ideally... yeah... creating something under five missions is something you want to shoot for, but if it's going to be longer, at least make the fifth mission in each to either be really climatic or resolve/ give some answers to certain questions.
OK, I've not really looked too hard, but I wanted to get a feel for the MA Using community.

What I want to know is, if you came across an arc that spanned 3 arcs, IF the story was appealing, would you play it? Or would the overall length put you off?
