Expanded level pacts

When level pacts first came out in I13, the devs suggested that they might be expanded once they got the bugs worked out of them. As far as I know, all the bugs are gone. I don't think they've made any changes to the level pact system recently, so maybe it's time to expand the system? By this I mean primarily two things.

1. Allow level pacts with more than two members. This would be nice for obvious reasons. If you have more than 1 friend you like to team with on a regular basis, you're kind of screwed. I see no real reason why level pacts couldn't be expanded clear out to 8 (or even more for that matter) people.

2. Allow the creation of level pacts beyond level 5. The benefit here is pretty obvious as well. It's hard to know if you're going to really like a character by level 5. I usually don't figure out whether I'm going to like a character enough to keep playing it until sometime in the 20s. It would be really nice if you could level pact characters later in their career so that you could wait to see if you really liked the character before you pacted it. And if you didn't, then you could just level another character up to the point where your former pact-mate was, and pact those two together instead.

I can see a few pit-falls though with this one. Namely, there would have to be some protections in place so that a level 50 couldn't level pact with a level 1, and then power-level them up, with the lowbie getting double xp the entire time. The easiest way to fix this (at least conceptually, standard code rant applies) would be to simply restrict level pacting to characters that are within 5 levels of each other (or some other number that was determined to be acceptable).

Overall, it's not a huge deal, but it would be a nice QoL adjustment for those of us that use the level pact system frequently, and it doesn't seem like something that would be too hard to implement.

I hardly use LP everday (but have used them often in the past), but i like this idea.

I argee with you as i dont know if i'm going to enjoy a charcter till at least lvl 10 when you start to get into it more. so being able to LP up to lvl 15/20 would be great.

the cant LP once someone is over 15/20 would be good as well to stop mis-use of it.

The LP tbh should be increased to at least 4 people becuase while its nice to have your mate with you, your right saying that you normally like teaming with more than 2 person. with that naturally the xp gets shaved even lower for your own kills, but with the team with you its normal xp so it wouldnt matter.

cant see this being a big change to the already fun system.

Sorry for the necro, but it's only a little over a month old, this really didn't get much discussion, and I have another reason for why LPs should get some work done to them.

Subscription cancelations. For example... due to a bank error my account was overdrawn, and this happened when my subscription was due to charge. My sub was canceled, and all my level pacts were broken. Out of about ten pacts, only one is still under level 5. So now that's 9 pacts that can't be fixed.

Something similar had happened back when level pacts first came out, though it was actually due to my pact mate canceling her sub due to money issues. When she came back a couple months later, we logged in, and our pact was broken. We didn't realize why at first so we petitioned. Got an email a few hours after we'd logged off, saying we repact but both of us would have to be on at the same time, and we'd have to petion again, and get a GM to help us.

Well we'd played that day for a couple hours, got no in game help. So then next time we played together, we petioned, and same thing. No in game help, and email after logging off. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing on GMs or support, but if it's that hard to get ONE level pact fixed, try doing it with nine. Not to mention not being able to play one of those characters without the other for fear of making it impossible to repact because their XP no longer matches.

Long story short: Level pacts should be able to be made past level 5, even if there are restirctions like having to be within 5 levels of eachother.

IIRC, that was the intent of that feature: start out with the ability to be made until level 5 and then expand on that. Maybe it fell down the cracks with all the new stuff being developed?

Nothing from i13 has been significantly revisited even though most of it doesn't work.

Merits still lead to hoarding to 50 and killed non-50 supply, largely because they inexplicably can be set to a specific level for overbuys but not randoms. There's still no formula to buff the merit counts of hard but fast TFs. Setting levels would probably be a rather simple fix.

Day Jobs are still nearly irrelevent, even though they could be quite relevant if they were converted to tickets like tailor discounts were or use counts like the teleporter was, rather than autos that work as passive powers. This would also probably be a rather simple fix.

Level pacts only work up to 5 and are awkward and easily broken.

PVP... let's not even get into that.

Base upgrades rolled back and replaced with simply eliminating base raids.

This was the first issue that had hints of GR implementation - Daedalus and Airlia, plus faction specified story arcs. I get the idea that there is too much pressure to get GR done for more quality control and revisiting of such things.

I used to Level pact with a friend of mine, he left the game mind, but I can certainly see that the Level pact feature could do with an upgrade.

It would be nice if you could pact up to Lv16-20, or pact within four levels of one another. And being able to have pact groups of four or more would do nicely, Eight might be better in case they all want to do a full team from time to time.

As for abuse, the 'level difference no greater than' style of pacting would be the best, as someone only a few levels lower than you wouldn't gain a stupid amount of XP as someone 20 levels lower than you.
