What do you think when you see this line?
"Level 50 ITF Looking For More"
Do you think: (A) This TF is only interested in lvl 50 characters, level 49 and below need not apply -or- (B) This TF will be led by a lvl 50 so if you're level 36 you'll be raised up and if you're lvl 50, you don't have to worry about being de-leveled to 40 or something. I asked this on my server's TF channel a while back and got mixed responses so I thought I'd ask the community at large. |
I realise some people might snark you back with some lame put-down about how you should have known, but **** them! I'm not psychic and, frankly, a yes/no question doesn't deserve getting attitude in response, specifically when attitude takes a lot more effort than just ending the query in two, possibly three key presses.

Sorry to skip most of the thread, but the premise of this question confounds me
|
Which doesn't seem the case. Without adding up the replies, it looks like 5:2 or 3:1 in favor of "B". A good preference for "B" but hardly a sure thing.
Less about me being afraid to ask and more about me being curious if there was a general understanding among the game community regarding what it meant. Especially since I see it fairly commonly.

Simply put, if someone says "Lvl 50 IFT, 5 spots" you respond with "level 33 Scrapper looking for ITF" instead of "I want in." It's a bit longer to type out, but still.

I think, "Hmm... No double brackets..."
That aside... I'd send a tell, "((Hi! Do you still have room for a level XX X?))"
To me, a Level 50 only would (Or should) specify the "only" part.
Of course, most people do not communicate quite so well, so you never know intentions...
And it never hurts to ask... Well, it can, actually... but it is generally the only way to obtain some sort of psychotic approximation of what another being potentially had within their crazy brains...
As far as ITFs and level 50s are concerned...
Two things...
1) It's been suggested to me by a number of people to avoid any ITF that is not being run at level 50 (With some actual level 50s on the team)
2) So long as there are a couple of level 50s on the team... a number of SKd 35s and up should be okay (The higher the better, but we should be good to go without much of a problem)
A 3rd thing... It really isn't that difficult to type (nor read) longer messages.
Don't be afraid to type, people!! It's okay! It does not make you lame to actually type out real sentences and also to actually expend some effort communicating with others!

and round up everyone that knows more than they do"-Dylan
I'd expect it to be B).
If wanted a lvl 50 only, needs to state level 50 only. As is, I see it stating what level it will be run at.
I'd still send a tell first if i was lower than 45ish, as less than five levels lower than leader can be a big deal to some teams.
I'd probably ask if I wasn't level 50, just to be on the safe side.
