I really disliked that build, immensely. I don't mean to be rude, but I found that a bad build.

Your best AoE attack (L. Field) has no accuracy, damage or end reduction, it should be slotted for damage, acc and endred. Your other AoE (L. Drops) is also not slotted for damage at all.

Divine Avalanche has a lot less accuracy than it should.

You skipped Lightining Reflexes, a great power for /Elec.

The Steadfast unique could go in Grounded, it's taken kinda late.

No idea why you picked Whirlwind, you'll turn it on just to see if the proc fires? I'd get CJ and puta a LOTG of a Def IO for added defense/mobility.

All your attacks except for GD are undeslotted for damage and accuracy, I'd consider getting rid of SotW and getting L. Reflexes. Also, I'd get tough and weave and forego CP and PP, you won't have endurance problems with Power Sink.

If you have Ninja Run, you could get Hurdle and later with L. Reflexes you'll move and jump plenty fast and high.

The more I look at that build, the less I understand it. I'm guessing you took the principles of a Blaster solo build and applied them to a Scrapper, which just doesn't work.

The basics of any katana/elec build:
1) Divine Avalanche: This provides incredible melee and lethal defense starting at level 8, if it hits.

Since DA doesn't give a defense bonus if it misses, you need to slot it for accuracy (it should have a 95% chance of hitting in any situation you plan to be in). If you're selecting set bonuses for defense, you should build for AoE and then Ranged (most ranged attacks are either Lethal or Energy, which your regular powers already protect against).

2) Power Sink: At level 35, your endurance worries go away. Fire it off with three enemies in range, and your endurance bar will fill up.

Because of this, Stamina is nice rather than essential if you don't plan to exemplar below level 30, Physical Perfection is only good for the regeneration bonus, and Conserve Power is useless.

If you posted the datachunk I'd play with it. I can't access the link at work due to it being blocked.

There's a thread started by me about how to slot DA. My slotting starts it and others offer very good advice. You need DA to live. It is what katana is about. There is no other reason to choose katana than DA. Get the acc and def up, and you will be a god.

You didn't take Tough and Weave. [/e faceplam] Where did your mother and I go wrong? I also tend to take manuvers if there's space. I don't go as far as slotting CJ for def, usually put the kismet +6 in there.

I hadn't thought about some of the coolness of making a kata/elec. I might have to do this next time I go into an alt frenzy.

Oh, and you can skip hasten, you're katana. And get get stamina asap just in case you team with someone at 24.

Reeeaad about katana. Read read read. Even when you read about it you won't understand how awesome it can be.

Oh, and if you do make that build, I highly suggest running to Warburg and getting the Hyperphase, maybe keeping a running bid on Etherial Shift at Wentworths. You'll need it.

[Now at home with Mids]

Don't take Sting of the Wasp. Don't skip Flashing Steel. While the damage may not seem great, it's a cone. When surrounded, use it and Lotus.

If you want Calling the Wolf, roll a Tanker. Taunt is much better. No one, ever, takes the taunt power in a scrapper. Their job is not to pull enemies off the squishies. Their job is to kill kill kill.

I suggest lose Grounded and pick up CJ.

Not sure why you'd wanna skip Lightning Reflexes. Look at Wentworth's at what a LotG +7.5, which only gives 7.5% global rech, is selling for. LR is 20% and and auto power.

Seeing Whirlwind makes me want to not even comment on this. Lose it. There are plenty of things you can cram into the 49 slot that wont make you look like you don't know what you're doing. What were you going to do with Whirlwind anyway?

You don't need Hasten, you're katana.

[time passes]

OK, I threw this together so some slotting is awkward. I did as I felt you should, build toward ENFC def and get all the resistance you can. Actually, the Melee and Lethal will get rid of most everything.

I did put some LotG +7.5s in there. You can remove them. Other than that, this is a cheap build. And by "that" I mean DA's slotting.

I'm actually running a Katana/Electric at level 24 right now. It's certainly a fun build. For leveling, I'd aim for Stamina at 20 as the setup uses an impressive amount of endurance early on.

Quote:
You don't need Hasten, you're katana.
He's also /Electric, a res set that counts on its heal from time to time. Always nice to have that up as often as possible. Also, going for SS, it's either Hasten or Flurry.

Other than that I don't have much to add, aside from what's been said.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

Calling the Wolf has a fairly nifty animation, so I could see taking it for style reasons.

Grounded is where you get your endurance-drain resistance. There isn't much that does serious end drain, but it'll make the few that do much easier to handle.

I'd build towards Ranged/AoE, but I haven't checked to see which is easier to get, especially since BotZ is going to be nerfed.

To give you an idea of how much "everything" is, on the Hess TF, I was tanking Burkholder and his surrounding mobs using only SOs. (Well, it wasn't so much "tanking" as "I was standing there with full health, slowly taking down the surrounding mobs with AoE attacks after the rest of the team faceplanted".)

That would be useful. I was thinking of avoiding Immob.

I'm a big proponent of not working toward AoE def. Though depending on the regen, it might be good.

Been there. Exactly. That stupid little pulpit, or whatever you'd call it. Slap, slap, slapping away. Right now I'm hunting +3 Overseers, and even with the energy attacks that slip right through my def, I'm chopping them away. Katana/wp is the most powerful toon I've ever played.
