Hero Hamidon Raid, 4/3/10, 2 PM PST, 5 PM EST
No Villain raid this week?

Since there's been more interest in doing hero side raids than doing villain side raids, we decided to skip villain side raids for a while.
There's always the RSF

That's just not fair to the villains who might want to do it.

It's not so much a matter of "fair" as a matter of not enough people have shown an interest in a redside Hami raid lately to bother going through the motions of organizing it, just to have not enough folks to go forward on "game day", as it were. No conspiracy, no hate, just not enough people.

Lately, it has been difficult to get 35 villains in the Abyss. The last time we attempted it, it took nearly 45 minutes to get enough to start, and then Hamidon spawned after a couple of DE GMs were defeated. That left us in a difficult position with a small number of players and EoEs.
Then, the perfect storm of catastrophes took place: several of the group leaders (at least one of which was dual boxing) disconnected due to loss of power. We had a small number of Dominators and Fortunatas, which made downing the Green mitos time consuming, thus making defeating Yellow mitos very difficult.
Needless to say, it isn't that I don't want to do the villain version (and I think Kid would agree), it is that there realistically isn't as much interest. If there was more interest, we would do it.

I understand the decision completely.
FYI, I lead the MM team.

Interested in doing this again, with wifey, and hopefully this time she won't get that weird lag/glitch as she's clicking on her hard-earned HO (to view info) and see it disappear into thin air.
I'll bring either tanker, or blaster depending on need.
She would bring either defender or controller.

If I can free myself, I'll bring a tanker or a scrapper, depending on needs.

I...should be there.

There just isn't a high demand on the villian side.... yet.
I'm sure that when Rogue goes live, there will be many Rogue/Vigilanties around to assist in both Hami raids on any given week.
But complaining that it is not fair is a bad arguement. When my kids start saying something is unfair, I give them a blank stare and visit la-la land until they stop talking and the headache goes away.
Shall we try Evac-less?

Oh! Maybe instead of Ici, I'll bring Ms. Heckler for this.
Maybe...
Tell you what, we'll try a bloom evacless when we have a full hive. Not having the manpower when attempting that could get... ugly.
If somebody you're arguing with goes off the deep end, don't follow.
Well, we didn't get a full Hive, but we did walk away with a victory.
Congratulations to all attendees!

Nice job everyone. Went very smooth considering the amount of people we had.

Sorry I wasn't there guys, but glad you all were successful!
Dammit! I knew I forgot something today!
I've been preoccupied. So I hadn't actually even seen this thread.
I got caught logging in for a quickie on one of my alts and happened to see Rasta BS'ing about first bloom cleared.
Popped over on a Fire^3 Blaster and found out we hadn't started yet.
Anyhow, took us a bit to get the 4-ish teams. But we did.
Monsters: Took a while and I filled up on EoEs. Finally we got Jello.
First bloom: Went VERY nicely. Our team recall was a smidge late and a couple of us got croaked.
Second bloom: Was a bit tougher. We were having problems keeping holds on the greens so we could get them killed. Recall came in nicely.
Third bloom: We got splashed with Hami aggro on this one (or maybe that was second). OW. Still, it went more smoothly than the second bloom. Recall actually came early. Was okay though. I'd been sitting above Hami raining fire down on him and just went orbital when the bloom spawned back in.
Final bloom: Went off fairly nicely. Still having a bit of trouble keeping the greens held but c'est la vie.
I went for merits meself.
All in all, for the amount of people we had it went off nicely. Could probably use a few more controllers next time (may grab my Grav/Kin).

But once again, the problem was that we didn't have enough players arrive at the scheduled start time. Further, we were low on player participation as well. All things said, we had a high of maybe 35-39 in the Hive, and that didn't occur until very late in the third bloom.
Although I've heard complaints that the zone cap of 50 people is a problem, lately that hasn't been the issue, the problem has been interest.
Looking at the participation we had yesterday (and also for previous villain side raids), it is still more time effective and less problematic to organize an STF or an RSF to acquire an SHO than it is to do a Hamidon raid on either side.
I know Kid, Sooner, and I have discussed doing an evac-less raid, or at least attempting to do an evac-less last bloom. However, the more I think about it, the more I believe that it may not be worth the effort right now: the quantity of interest just isn't there. Sure there are some that are ready and willing to put in the time to get it done. The problem is that the number of people in that group is barely enough to do a Hamidon raid smoothly. And further, those players would have little trouble putting together and doing STFs and RSFs. So why should they extend themselves to do Hamidon raid for the same benefit and more difficulty?
If there is anyone that disagrees (which I hope there are), I want you to take it as a personal challenge to attend future raids on time and in force (bring your friends). Without consistent and regular participants, the desire to organize and lead hero side Hamidon raids will taper off similar to how villain side raids have not been scheduled recently. And that would be a shame.

Hero Hamidon Raid.
Saturday, April 3rd, 2 PM Pacific (3 PM Mountain, 4 PM Central, 5 PM Eastern).
kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.
A few points to remember:
* The Hive is restricted to level 45+ heroes.
* The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
* It will hold 50 heroes, if the Hive fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.
* The Hamidon will spawn (bloom) 3 sets of Mitos at (75%, 50%, and 25%), in addition to the mitos that initially spawn with him.
* After Hamidon is defeated you will have the option of selecting 53 Reward Merits or a random Hamidon Origin Enhancement if you are level 47+.
Hope to see you there!
