Dual blades and Vanguard, the hell?

I've always wanted the vanguard broadsword/katanas for use with dual blades; they just look so much better then the lame little short swords DB gets as a default. So color me surprised when a DB player I teamed with last night had dual vanguard katanas.

Figured, unannounced change to the weapon options, went to Icon today to change my db scrapper and behold! No option for that. Nothing listed as a possible option like that in wiki that I could find.

Am I missing something? How the heck did this guy have dual vanguard katanas?

Gotta buy vanguard stuff before it's useable. Only shown as being available for those that could use it; Trollers aren't gonna have the weapons available for purchase.

It's true, Hamster! It was in some release notes from Nivene a week or so ago. Vanguard blades of any kind can be used for any sword-carrying hero or villain. I could be wrong on the details, but it's along those lines. I'm pretty sure they would have to be bought seperately still at the crafting table though.

It was posted a while back, as stated above. Pissed me off because BS got the katana skin, DB got both katana and BS, and katana got nothing. As always.

Katana already had the most awesome one.

Katana didn't get the broadsword or dual blades ones because neither of those models has a hilt long enough to accomodate two hands, which is required for the katana animations. BS and dual blades got the katana one because having too *long* of a hilt isn't a problem, but having too *short* of one is.

Thanks for the heads up. I like the Vanguard katana a lot more than the broadsword and I just happened to have a lot of Vanguard merits left over from running RWZ doors on 2XP!
