No, it's just on a technical hiatus.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

The last super-seekrit City Scoop post was in January, in a discussion about merging with the Titan Network (since the new forums hate the Scoop even more than the old ones did). The website that the Titan Network was building as a replacement for the Scoop (since at the time, the Scoop seemed to have vanished entirely) is not at Tony's satisfaction for public release (and since Tony is the project lead...).

Most likely course of events: Titan Network reveals a new website in the near future (sorry I can't really give you a proper timeline, I'm not really on that team), and some of the Scoop staff becomes columnists on the TN site. With lack of staff (due to part of the staff moving to TN) and lack of functionality on the forums, the official City Scoop will more than likely dry up.

I'm a bit sad to see it go, to be honest. But hopefully the TN site will get up and running, and the playerbase will enjoy the new format. (AFAIK, it won't be a weekly newsletter like the Scoop, but more like a collection of articles similar to Slashdot)

FW is correct. We made an effort to come up with a solution that worked on the new forums, those didn't pan out. Others tried to come up with various offsite systems, but none of us had the available time in order to make it happen.

Our mantra at the Scoop was always that Real Life came first. We all love our work and time at the Scoop, but there's no reason to make other more important things suffer for it.

There's also the unfortunate fact that after the departure of Lighthouse and Ex Libris, a lot of our support from the staff dried up. No disrespect to our current community team (truly. I got nothing but love for them), but it became very hard to progress, when we weren't getting any feedback on the new forums and when they were coming and how they would work from a technical standpoint.

The Scoop will remain something I'm very proud to have been a part of. It may end up moving or being finally and completely shut down, but I ain't leaving the Newsroom ever. I have my own desk. I keep stuff in it.

Hey, at least the Scoop looked professional and had excellent writers. It's something to be proud of.

Only a very small handful of people know I used to be a news editor (glorified copy-paster, basically. Do nothing job with a free VIP account =P) for IGN >_>
