Worth the value? {price check}

Since my original card is dying {well, technically it's just the fan that's giving out, but since I'll be out shopping for replacement anyway...}, I just thought to check - is $107 a passable price for a "nVidia XFX 9600GT 512Mb DDR3 650M with native HDMI"?

Or, given that hardware upgrades aren't frequent for me, would I get better value {mid-to-long term} for a 9800GT at $132?

I'd say yes, Quinch, particularly since the 9800GT is UM Capable (or, so we're lead to believe anyway) where the 9600GT isn't.

wait, $132?

I got my 9800GT for about $109... This, looks like, though a different shroud (and no game in mine, but it was a few months ago.)

Can always check Newegg, too.

What country are you in? Reason why I ask is that $132-$140 US Dollars is about what you should be paying for one of the GTS 250's... the die-shrunk versions of the 9800 GTX. (the 9800 GT is the weaker version)

Only, the site you listed... doesn't seem to be an American site. A quick search tells me that what I think is kn money signature is supposed to belong to Croatia.

Honestly, if you are in the (USD) $130 market though... well, you are just about $10 shy of where the RadeonHD 5750 sits right now... and it's pretty much fast enough to run DX11 / OpenGL 3.2 features in 1440x900 and 1680x1050 with playable frame-rates. That's really your best bang for buck buy if you have to buy right now... at least in the US.

Since I'm not really sure what I'm looking at on the Diskont site, nor how to properly convert the money, I couldn't tell you if you are getting ripped off on what look like the prices.

Well, looking at the site, the cheapest 5750 is around $180 USD. It's simple to use google to find currency converters.

The cheapest 250 I find is a GTS250 for around $151 USD.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I am - I'm not sure how feasible ordering from the US would be, considering the shipping costs and customs charges.

Also, I've had... consistently bad experiences with ATI, so I'm pretty much ignoring anything in that department.

Okay, new crisis arose - my {ancient} mouse, well, is also on the way out - the thumb button broke its axis holder, and with no way to fix it, so I guess I'll need to replace it as well. Anyone have firsthand experience with Microsoft's Sidewinder X5, and if so, is it a worthwhile investment?
