Positive time limits?

Generally, running out of time on a timer is bad. Are there any mission that require you to survive for X amount of time? The closest things I can think of are the Stop 30 Fir Bolg mission in Croatoa and the final mission of the Terra Volta reactor trial. And both of those are technically Defeat Alls with a twist.

Kahn TF, surviving the Invincible Reichsman.

Yes, I realize most people just exit the map and wait, but it's still technically in that category of a timer you must wait for.

As far as the "Stop 30" mission you are referring to, I believe that is simply a "defeat all". The mission itself is not on a timer. If you defeat everything.. the mission ends. You don't have to wait for all the mobs to eventually come as ambushes.

You are missing the more obvious Redcap mission in Croatoa though, where you guard the Henge. That is a basic timer that you must survive (or the Henge must survive). An easy way to avoid having to deal with tons of Redcap ambushes is to have a Hold power and keep one minion perma-held. If he never dies, a new ambush never comes. This is incredibly boring of course, but it's a solution for those who don't think they can succeed otherwise.

-facepalm- In the back of my mind I knew I was forgetting something.

Do the "protect the item" mission objectives fit your query?

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

I don't think they would. "Defend" means "defeat the mobs around the the defendable object, then defeat the N waves of ambushes (where N is usually 3), all without the object taking too much damage".

Or you could do what I do, kill all but one of the first wave, then chain mezz the last guy while you go make a meal.
