Casual Earnings: Project Mope

good drops:

doing a 'kill 10 freakshow" mission I vaporized a spawn of 3 and got two rare salvages for my trouble.

got an Adjusted Targeting recipe that sold for a few million.

I cropped down the screenshot but uploaded the original- oh well!

levelling was mostly running Hard Luck's arc combined with newspapers to open up a new contact once I finished it.

I was reminded of this thread and will be updating soon!

A pretty barren level, one good drop (Empowered Sigil) and that was it.

Finished off Hardcase's arc, burned a Mission Complete on the second of back-to-back 'kill all wailers!' Will need to grind some newspapers to get a new contact as he blew me off until I'm 35th (oh yeah, looking forward to *that*).


I bumped up my difficulty a notch and it still isn't a challenge, I might bump it up again although I'd need to slot more acc.

another note, as I play him fairly infrequently he's basically in a state of perma-patrol XP so he's burning through these levels pretty fast, further reducing his drop potential.

By the way, I just ran a stalker up to 10, oldschool- no teams, no temp powers, selling all salvage for 1 and buying every TO I could- and had 61K in the bank. And villainside market in the sub-20 stuff is notoriously soft. . . some of that stuff didn't instasell at 1 inf.

I'll do a full update when he hits 35 with screens and everything, but here's a funny anecdote.

I figured I'd take him rogue, since he isn't really a villain or a hero, he's just a disaffected amoral teenager. So I ran a bunch of tip missions (which were a lot of fun, love the system, love the implementation, looking forward to future expansion). Ran the morality mission, got smeared by ENDLESS AMBUSHES and had to turn down my difficulty (ambushes totally ignoring stealth is my one remaining gripe about the stalker AT), then finished it....and realized when I read the 'reward' screen that the 50 merits he was sitting on would vanish into thin air.

I'd been planning on saving them all up and rolling at 50, but I didn't want to just throw them away.

So I reluctantly chose to stay villain, then ninja-flipped over to the merit vendor to cash in my bankroll.

The gods of the RNG smiled on my sacrifice- roll 1 was a Mako's Bite proc, roll 2 was (FINALLY!) one of the big ones, a Numina's +rec/+regen.
The first *really good* thing I've ever gotten from old timey TF rolls or merits.

The Mako's was worth a few mill, so I listed it low.
The Numina's at level 34 had 0 listed and a small pile of bidders, so following my Rule of Zero I posted it at a multiple of the last sale. It'll be interesting to see what I get for it, as there were only two previous sales in the history.

Tonight it's back to running tip missions to lay the ground for my alignment shift...

Factoid: Only ALIGNMENT merits go away, I believe. not REWARD merits. So if you cashed the 50 Rewards in for one AM it would have been at risk.
