Once more into the Jello...
Hamidon's going down!

Saturday, February 27th, 2 PM Pacific (3 PM Mountain, 4 PM Central, 5 PM Eastern).

kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.

A few points to remember:
* The Hive is restricted to level 45+ heroes.
* The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
* It will hold 50 heroes, if the Hive fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.
* The Hamidon will spawn (bloom) 3 sets of Mitos at (75%, 50%, and 25%), in addition to the mitos that initially spawn with him.
* After Hamidon is defeated you will have the option of selecting 53 Reward Merits or a random Hamidon Origin Enhancement if you are level 47+.

Hope to see you there!

Impale is ranged.
Throw Spines is ranged.
Quills is PBAoE.

None of them are useful against Yellow Mitos.

I'll bring my BS/SR scrapper and get killed a few times.

Yellows are vulnerable to melee. Blues are vulnerable to ranged. Greens are vulnerable to everything once they are held.

Correction: the PBAoE (Quills) should affect yellow mitos.

The reason hes more useful is because he is both melee and ranged dmg XD thats green and yellow mitos correct?
In Major T's original post there are some links which may be helpful to you in order to understand how a Hami Raid works.

Hamidon Information can be found by simply clicking this link

I've copied the link to the main one on Hamidon above, but I would suggest reading up on all of them since you're unfamiliar with the raid.

Oh I'd like to join with my ice blaster, Circle Dancer. I hope I can be there! I also have a rad/rad def that might prove useful

I don't think I'll be able to attend this raid, so someone else will need to step up to target for this one.

Too bad Dark Regeneration doesn't.

Dammit.

Actually, both Yellows and Blues also have incredibly high defense to powers flagged "AoE_Attack", which Quills and Throw Spines both are. Spines is unfortunately the worst powerset to fight the Yellows with, as you can only use 3 attacks: Barb Swipe (Bleh), Lunge and Ripper.

Concerning the AoE attacks: that's what I originally thought. Then I did some more research and I came to the conclusion that PBAoE was considered a melee attack and was treated as such by the "armor" of the Yellow mito.

However, I will defer to you (Trick), as you're analysis of the game mechanics is usually correct and only the words of a redname or solid evidence would persuade me otherwise.

I have no explanation but my cones (sands of mu) hit the yellow mitos consistently when I do villain raids. Throw spines might be more of a ranged attack though.

As far as the game is concerned, there is no difference between Cones, AoEs, PBAoEs, Location AoEs, Targeted AoEs, etc.

When it comes to Defense, everything depends on the what "Attack Type" the power is flagged to be, and that Attack Type is completely separate from a power's range or damage type.

An attack could be single target, with a range of 100 ft and do Fire Damage, but Attack Type could be flagged "Melee_Attack, Cold_Attack" and you'd only be able to dodge the attack using Melee Defense or Cold Defense.

Some Melee Archetype AoEs are a little inconsistent with whether they're considered "AoE_Attack" or "Melee_Attack".

Sands of Mu is flagged as "Melee_Attack, Smashing_Attack, Negative_Energy_Attack", which means only Melee, Smashing, and Negative Energy Defense can influence the tohit roll it will make.

So I'm going to lead the tanker team as usual. T will most likely take one of the melee teams (spike or yellow agro). Need someone to take the other melee team and someone to handle targeting.

This will be my first raid since the changes made back in I9.

I'm not even kidding.

I'd like to bring in my inv/em tanker but also have fire/dev, dm/regen, db/regen, da/db. My mélée preferrence is showing.

Wife also will be there, probably on her ice/emp.

Feel free to bully us around so that we can fall into place.

That combination will work nicely.

Kevin Christian (MC/FF/Primal Controller)
SilverCybernaut (Eng/Dev/Munitions Blaster)
Apixie OhNo (Fire/Fire/Pyre Tanker)
Y'ru Glowen (Rad/Rad/Psy Defender)

Well, I missed the hell out of that one. Looks like you guys are still there, though, so good luck!

Great raid. We had a full zone and it went very smoothly. Thank you to everyone who came and a big thank you to the other team leaders (Woeful, T, and Trickshooter). Next raid will be villainside on the weekend after double XP. ^_^
