1. Create a new folder.
2. Rename the folder to
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

(NOTE: that you can change the “GodMode” text, but the following period and code number are essential).

3. The folder icon will change — double click it to show the GodMode window
Whoa! That is freakin' AWESWEETASTIC!! Thanks!!

Plus some of my email gets large attachments - I'd rather just download it once instead of each and every time I go to that message.

Email app > any webmail for me. (And yes, I even use it to get Hotmail from the account I've had since before MS owned it, as well as my Gmail accounts.)
I'm with you on this one. I prefer using an Email client. But since my current living situation means no privacy and sharing my computer, I am forced to stick to accessing all my email through the web.

While I still prefer using Thunderbird, Gmail is pretty good now that I have it set up the way I want.

Actually, it's already there. Look at the far right side of your task bar. After the clock, you'll see a vertical bar. That's the Show Desktop widget. Hover your mouse over it, and it will automatically show your desktop until you move your mouse. If you click on it, it'll work just like in older versions of Windows, and minimize all open windows, leaving your desktop visible.
Thanks i know that it was there i just didn't know or think to click on it.

Actually this isn't new just to win 7. I could do this in Visa. The reason i wanted to know about the show desktop was sometime i have 4-6 different windows and in the alt-tab the desktop is always the last option. In general i guess Im just to lazy to use it rather then just clicking on the short cut in my tool bar.

You might have to reboot. I don't remember... I think you'll also need to delete the desktop shortcuts for anything with that ugly UAC shield icon on it, and remake them...
Is this the only way? Its not that i don't want to notices. I just don't want it for this program. I kind of like the concept of having it

AFAIK, yes, this is the only way. Personally, I don't want the notices. I don't like them, and I don't need them. I can screw up my compy just fine without notices that I'm doing so.

To avoid the UAC prompts you have two other options, renaming cohupdater.exe to remove the updater part will work, but you'll have to rename it again on every patch to continue bypassing the prompt.

You can also skip the updater entirely by creating a shortcut directly to cityofheroes.exe and adding the " -project coh " switch. Using this method, you'll get an error on patch days that your game doesn't match the server version, but exiting and running the updater will fix that untill the next patch.

Uh, can't you tell CityOfHeroes.exe and CohUpdater.exe to run as administrator, which disables UAC for that application, and you don't have to disable UAC entirely?

That didn't work for me, Agg. Was one of the things I tried before coming here and asking in Tech Help, and being told to turn off UAC.

Huh. That doesn't make sense, isn't that what it (run as admin) is for? I'm still on WinXP, though, so no personal experience.

Most keyboards have a windows key between the left alt and ctrl. Hold that down and hit "D." (Been in place since WinXP.) Quick drop right to desktop.
