Does Force of Nature provide Mez protection?

It doesn't say that it does, but most of the "God Mode" powers do provide Mez protection.

No personal experience with it ... but Mids shows no mez protection or mez resistance in FoN.

None. Pack a few break frees.

I tried it on my Empath briefly, when I was deciding which Mastery set to go with.
As Miladys mentioned, it does not provide status protection, and to make it even worse, because the the damage output of a defender (perhaps just Empathy) is on the low side, it can easily wear off before a fight is over if you pop it too soon.

Overall, I feel its a poor choice for anything except a High-DPS AT like scrapper or blaster.

Forgive my ignorance, but what "God Mode" powers that squishies get offer Mez protection? Offhand I keep thinking about "God Mode" powers and I keep thinking of melee sets that already have mez protection by default.

Amy,

I'd say that is most of the "God Mode" Powers.

Scrapper Power Surge
Scrapper Unstoppable
Scrapper Moment of Glory
Scrapper One with Shield
Scrapper Strength of Will

Tanker Power Surge
Tanker Unstoppable
Tanker One with Shield
Tanker Strength of Will

Because MoG doesn't really last long enough to be considered a "God Mode", Regen's god mode is more often considered to be Instant Healing thanks to the similar increase in survivability over an extended period of time on a long recharge.

Amy specified god mode powers "that squishies get". Last time I checked - which, admittedly, is never - "squishy" is a term generally used to describe low defense/resistance and low hit point ATs, (blasters, defenders, and controllers, blue-side) none of which get a tier9 defensive power in their secondary powerset (the location of every traditional god-mode power in the game). As for Lightform....it meets the "tier9 defensive power in a secondary powerset" (technically Kheldians have 10 tiers), but PBs are far from "low defense/resistance and low hit point ATs" (ie. not squishy, though they are squidy from time to time).

Force of Nature is thus probably the closest thing a "squishy" has to a god-mode power, though I think Vengence might be a worthy runner-up.

I didn't see it as a stupid question. Force of Nature is the only "God Mode" power that Defenders get. I don't think Scrappers would've cared if Defenders had Mez protection.

Besides the Devs ended up giving Blaster limited mez protection for their tier 1 and tier 2 blasts.

Blasters have an inherent that doesn't suck. but thats a completely different thread.

seriously though if you want mez prot. pick up some spare break frees.

Basically, no Ancillary or Patron Power provides mez protection. If one did, then they would all have to. Otherwise, you would be at a severe disadvantage if you did NOT take Force of Nature.

The two "God Mode" powers available in Ancillary Pools are Force of Nature and Surge of Power. Defenders get the former, Dominators get the latter, Blasters get both. (And Corruptors get the shaft, so be glad to get anything at all )

Actually, you're wrong. Check out Controller Psionic Mastery's Indomitable Will. While the recharge is a bit high for most builds to manage getting it permanent (*/Kin and */Rad can manage it thanks to native +rech buffs), it is still a mez protection ability within an APP.

Interesting that this can be perma. God Modes cannot be perma'ed. So I figured there was a chance.

I actually could care less about the resistances, with the crash I'm not sure if its worth it not to get mez protection. I just wanted the mez protection.

because indom will is simply mez prot and i think psi defense. Most "god mode" powers ( I hate that term by the way since most of the crashes excluding WP and shield aren't worth the power which is one of the big complaints against unstop) have a huge res buff and +HP along with mez. but since most of those sets already offer some kind of mez prot. no one takes them simply for the mez prot.

I am not so certain that Indomitable Will can be made perma. If it can, I am betting it would be g**awefull expensive. But with a reasonable effort its available every battle, and lasts 90 sec, which is about as long as most "unstoppable" powers. (Edit: well after checking, its less duration than all of them, but without a crash, its still well worth a power pick)

I am in agreement with PC_Guy though. I prefer the term "unstoppable type" powers, and have never liked them. About the only AT (in my opinion) that can really capitalize on their use would be Scrappers, since the amount of DPS they deal combined with being a little more squishy than a tank, makes them a great "panic button". On Tanks, and the "one" defender I have tried it with, they are a gamble that is weighed heavily in the house's favor.

It can be made perma. You need a total of 300% recharge (enhancements + global) so basically you need perma-hasten plus another 25% recharge. Unless you're Kin or Rad this is going to be require some nasty sacrifices though.

Isn't that pretty much what I said?

I'd consider fighting through the crash on a Defender to get even a little mez protection from Force of Nature. But I can see where other characters would be reluctant to.
