Wrong with it?
Only that it would be the most labor intensive thing ever done in the game since the original coding.
In order to customize an emanation point for a power you would need to make a new animation for every emanation point. We'll go with 10 because it's a nice round number and will illustrate my point nicely.
Then you take those 10 animations and multiply them by 3 because there are 3 body types that all have their own animation sets (30)
Then, you multiply that by 2 because standing and flying use different animations. (60)
So you would need to code at least 60 brand new animations for every single power in the game. Coupled with the fact that you would have to add code to give all 3 character models more nodes to attach those powers to. (From what BaBs has said you would have to recode the entire game engine in order to do that)
With the reported current staff of Paragon Studios it would take longer to do that than coding a brand new game from scratch. And it would require the entire animation department, and they would probably have to bring in people from other departments with experience in coding.
So....you would be okay with no new content or new anything else for the 2 or 3 years that would probably take?

This thread and others suggest you need to get out more.
I know that sounds harsh. Others have worded it more harshly. But there may be a REASON for the lonliness, in that you spend all your time indoors.
Me? Im a social recluse and happy as larry. The friends I do make are good ones who share my addict- uh, hobbies (gaming, films, animation, art, more gaming) so...yeah.
*shrug* I like the idea itself. I just dont think we can get away with it on this engine and without a fragnatz worth of work.

Anyway, alternate blast animations would be a coding nightmare, and I would argue paritally unfair. After all, most of the blasts already have power customization in the form of color changes. Giving them alternate animations on top of that would make other sets look pretty artistically limited by comparision. I'm not saying we shouldn't do something like this...SOMEDAY...but other sets should be given more options to keep things fair, and this level of customization is pretty low on my wish list.

Like take Power Blast, the power that to hands...
I want be able to have it shoot out of
one hand left/right, chest where the logo is, belt, if it works then eyes, and oput of your head.
X-ray, it comes out mof the eyes already so
Lets, let it go out of both or one hand, belt, chest, and head.
Not sure if this would work,
Oh, I forgot to say palms. YOu know how Power Bolt (I think it is) you uses your fists? Well I want to open those fists so it will come oiut of our hands!
