Video Card Manufacturer Question ???
All I need is a good system that will last me at least 4 years out and will run the ultra mode.

For the OP:
See what else the EVGA is doing. Is it overclocked, does it have more "stuff" with it, etc? If not, and PNY has been good for you - go with pny. (I seem to be using XFX a lot. Last four video cards.)
And Team_SG1, you will get better results if you didn't threadjack someone else's thread. You've done that twice so far.

So I am getting ready to build my new pc thanks to the tax man and I want the most bang for my buck. Got a video card question for all you techies out there. How important is the manufacturer of the video card. I was planning on putting a EVGA GeForce 250 512MB in it but then I saw that a bunch of GeForce 250 cards with 1GB were running the same price as the EVGA 512MB card. So anyone familar with brands like Palit, MSI, or BFG. My last two cards were made by PNY and they both ran great till they got outdated and PNY has a 1GB card as well. So, is it worth it to ge the 1GB card over the 512MB card if the price is the same. Most of the cards I am looking at have gotten decent reviews so I am thinking yes. Please discuss and provide input. Thanks.

I purchased a Gigabyte GTS 250 1GB card about 6 months ago. I love it. I can play nearly anything on the highest settings. It runs fantastic. Unfortunately, the GTS 250 is a starter card for Ultra Mode when it's released. So we'll see how that goes.

We'll see....
Thats why I was looking at the GTX 265 that Psoitron mentioned.
And the only reason I had reposted here was because I didnt get any reponse on my other thread and I didn't intend to thread jack. So I offer my sincere apologies to anyone I've offended including Father Xmas
BTW the specs I posted on the other thread was one that I started anyway so it doesnt count as a threadjack there

Other factors to consider when choosing a card other than just the price is warranty and support. I lean towards evga for a couple of reasons. They offer a limited lifetime warranty on most of their gaming level cards, but you do have to register the card at their site within 30 days of purchase. They also have a free upgrade program to a higher level card within 90 days of purchase.
So I finally decided to go with the BFG GTS 250. It had some decent reviews online and it was $20 cheaper than the EVGA or the PNY. The other cards were just to wimpy looking. Lets hope I made the right choice.
