My commissioned piece is complete!

A couple of weeks ago I commissioned the talented Leah Keeler for a piece of Quinch waiting for a train.

This is the result. Initially I was a little wary of the price tag, but the end result is definitely worth it, doubly so considering the endless stream of nitpic-, er, the occasional clarification I made regarding some details.

You can see the full-sized piece by clicking on the picture above. Another bit of thanks goes to StormVyxen who pointed me in the right direction. The bad news is, now I have no excuse to keep putting off work on my VirtueVerse page.

Looks really nice, tho.
How can you wait for a train when you sit outside the station?

Nice art, though: it's got great coloring.

I imagine he's watching the police drones vaporize muggers.

It is a gorgeous piece of art! I really like that he has a normal-guy appearance, yet his nonchalance with a naginata-arquebus (?), and his purple boots, makes it clear he's a super.

And the colouring is superb.

Great art all the way around...

I guess I agree that technically he should be waiting inside but it's not like he wouldn't see/hear the train coming so why not enjoy a nice day while he waits? *shrug*

Question on the artist without going into specific prices - She mentions an hourly rate, did you get a set price (or at least pretty tight price range) before the agreement was made or just a speculative "Around X amount"?

Curious because I'd be hesitant to hire anyone without a price pretty much set... I woudln't be willing to pay by the hour since I have no idea of how long they actually worked on it, not like I can have them punch a time clock. I have no problem paying for quality work but I need to know the hit my checkbook will take beforehand...

The price was a fixed -gets tackled by a ninja-, the base rate for a full shot + background.

Thanks... but ack! Removed the actual numbers!! We're not allowed to cite specific prices or else the fury of the rednames will come down upon us! Just needed to know it was fixed beforehand

This one turned out very nice - I love the details all around, especially the sunlight in the corner.

The trains have to come into the station via those overhead rails. If you keep you eye on the tracks you will see it coming in time.

I also like (by being outside) that it lets us know that this is not just any train station but specifically the one in Kings Row.
Great piece Quinch.
