Soulbound Allegiance Question

I haven't used Purples yet, but I have two different Soulbound Allegiances that I had received in drops.

Here's my question:

I have a Fire/Kin, Earth/Therm and Illusion/kin at 50 on the server I have the drops on.

I have the Damge and Damage/Recharge I think. Those two would give me a 16 percent increase in my regeneration.

Since I use the generic IOs in my pets right now, would I suffer a loss in damage if I slotted them in my pets?

Also, which Controller would you be prone to using them on?

You should actually see an increase in damage by a few tenths of a percent and you'll gain a bit of recharge.

Most level 32 pets don't require much recharge since recharge in pets was nerfed. (At one point recharge slotted in them would decrease the recharge of their attacks; this is no longer the case.) Stoney is pretty darn tough and the Phantasm tends to avoid ugly situations so they do well on their base recharge, often surviving until well after the power recharges. The imps could use it since they're a bit squishy and like to get into trouble. However, the best place in my estimation would be in PA, which benefits from the damage and recharge.

Of course, that's with the caveat that you don't lose recharge in PA by slotting them. Though if you're using generic IO's, I assume you're probably slotting 2 dam/2 acc/2 recharge in which case you'll gain a little in both damage and accuracy.

A great use for that Soulbound Dam/Rech is in Phantom Army. My preferred slotting is 4 Expediant Reinforcement, leaving out the Dam/End and the Resistance proc, and replacing that with the Soulbound Dam/Rech and the Chance for Build Up proc. It will cost a bit to get the Chance for Build Up proc, but the Pet Purples are cheaper than almost all the others.

My 50 fire/kin has the full set slotted on Fire Imps and it has done wonders ... Not only is it one of the cheapest purples, but the set bonuses are nothing to scoff at. It provides great damage and accuracy (my two biggest concerns w/ the Fire Imps). They can sustain a lot of damage, too!

To answer your questions ... Use it on the fire/kin and go ahead and slot the two for the regen bonus. Make it a priority to get the rest of the set and you won't be disappointed.
