Did I screw up?

I decided to create a second account so that I could move some influence/infamy around, and take care of some SG/VG invites. I figured I might as well take advantage of the "Invite a Friend" offer to get a free month on my primary account, so I went through the whole invite process and NCSoft e-mailed me the trial serial code.

However, when I tried to create a new master account, I had all kinds of problems with the password creation step - no matter what I did, it told me the password I typed in the confirmation box didn't match the password I typed in the first box, even though I KNOW they did.

I then decided the only way I was going to be able to move forward was by creating a second account under my existing master account. I didn't think about it at the time, but did doing this void the whole "Invite a Friend" offer? I was still able to create a trial account using the serial code they provided, but when I updgraded to a full account, I didn't get anything that told me I was getting a free month on my existing account.

Now, I've never done this before, so I don't know how it works. I assumed that as soon as I paid for the game with the "Friend" account, I would get credit on the first account, but does the "Friend" account have to pay for another month after the first "free" month is up? Or do I just not know where to look for the one month credit on my main/first account.

Sorry if this is tl;dr, but then again if it was, you wouldn't get this apology.

Both of my accounts are under the same master account. I used the Invite a Friend code. I got a free month.

The "Friend" has to get the code, upgrade to a retail account, AND pay for a month of game time before you get your free month.

Did you actually pay for the "Friend" account or just attach a credit card to it? As I understand it, with the Invite a friend, the "Friend" should have gotten an immediate free month after you give them your information for future billing. If you attach a card to the account, it wont be charge until the end of the free month, at which time the original account would be credited with the free time.

Yes, it works within the same master account as well.

If you log into your main game account and go back to the Refer-a-friend area, it will show you the status of any current invites at the bottom of the page. Like Roderick said, once you subscribe for at least another month beyond the free retail time you got on the second account, your main account will get the free time... and that section of the Refer-a-friend will say "Reward Earned" next to the e-mail address you used to send the code to yourself.

2. When your friend activates the trial account to a full retail account by buying a retail box or buying a direct digital download and then pays for their first month of subscription, you will have one month of free game time credited to your account.
Like Shadow State said, you have to wait for your free retail time to run out before you get your free month.
