If they can do it...
Nothing changed. AE got popular and people prefered to do that at the time. Then Fashion had other things to do and I didn't want to herd cats. If someone wants to take charge of blue side raids I will gladly coach them on what to do but I am not really in interested in leading anything but and agro or kill team myself.

I was in on a Raid on Virtue earlier, and there were some things there definitely worth adopting, IMO. It went very smoothly and fairly fast, to boot.
It would require enough tanks for hami and each of the yellows, with enough EoEs. They never left the jello once they entered - everyone would be ready and pop an EoE and a break free if they had one just before the respawn, and then set about taking on Mitoes again. The tanks had to be ready and positioned to taunt Hami and the yellows immediately when they re-spawned, but other than that, no big fuss.
I saw very few deaths...the one different thing was that the range team went in on a blue or two to attack them and keep the nearby greens busy, while the trollers were stacking holds on a green. Usually by the time the range people got one blue down, possibly two, but some times not even one, the green was ready to be held, and most of the yellows were already down. the range team refocused on the green, letting the blues go, and the trollers/defs/blasters just did greens until they were all gone. Blues were done last.
One spawn I didn't use an EoE and popped one green, and was good to go after that - the yellows being constantly taunted and the melee team wiping them out fast enough meant little damage for the group - just the blues zapping and some mezzing.

the ship raid would be better and more popular if i had an end goal....sure you kill the gm...lay afew bombs....but the bomb limit is a joke.....but tp everyone out after a determined amount of time is boring.....make it a goal to destroy whole ship......something....
and i do agree with more group oriented tasks ....desparately needed |
As for the AE missions, I enjoy doing that and from time to time I'll do farms with folks. But as mentioned above can only go on for so long before people become bored. Gamers wants some thing that keeps them interested in the long run and honestly TRUE raids I believe are the only thing that are keeping Conan alive for the time being.
Sigh... one day I will be able to make one of these Hamidon raid thingy-majiggies. However, when I play... most people are snoozing. Never been on a successful run. And I know I don't have the temperment to run one. Sigh.
We did essentially the same thing when we had enough tanks and emps at the raids but we would always reset between spawns because most people can't keep themselves that coordinated. You would see that more in private than public raids.
At public raids, esp on Pinn you kinda work with what you have because we also get a lot of leachers who don't do anything but watch and get one hit. The overall strategy is the same no matter the situation the raid leaders just need to adapt the strategy to it.

I think we could easily do it that way if we'd get some folks farming EoEs before the raid. If everyone showed up with some, then the extras from GM killing would be available for the 7-8 tanks, we should be able to stay in there and not have to reassemble and such.
The raid I was on was a publicly announced one, not a private one, so it should work for Pinn, as well. We'd need to work out the tanks and the team leaders stuff ahead of time, I think, so that the core people know what to do without one person having to announce it.
I think I've also worked out a way to take care of some of the hiding leechers once the zone gets full, as well.

Copied this from a post on the Virt forum regarding the style of the raid I was on, in case some are still curious:
---------
Thought I would add that Virtue now does evac-less raids blueside (and with some more practice, red-side soon) using a strat modified from the nuke-hami raid.
Changes:
Have yellow mito teams thumbtack their assigned yellow on the map, to find it later before it spawns. It also can be helpful if everyone on the raid has 3 EOE's to eat on the blooms.
While attacking the nucleus after clearing mitos, instead of calling for TP'ers to get safe, apply single target buffs as needed. Roughly 15-20 secs before each bloom, call for RA's and aoe buffs on the assembled group.
Immediately after RA's are stacked, yellow agro holders move to pre-thumbtacked positions and get ready to taunt-agro the spawning yellows.
Remind the raid to eat an EOE on the bloom. Then proceed with a standard mito clearing. Keep AB stacked on the Hami taunt tank throughout.
This will easily shave 10-20 mins or more off a normal evac raid, and make for a non-stop event throughout.
Red-side lacks stacked RA's, so will have to drop a pair of nukes on the assembled raiders prior to bloom. Even then, it might be necessary to have the squishier assaulters exit the goo prior to bloom and let melees take Hami down (after the buffs are applied to all). More experience with this forthcoming.

That's how they've done them since late last year, as I understand it, and they now go quite smoothly and fairly quick, to boot. I'm wondering if we get them to going quicker, without the pauses every mito spawn, would the leechers actually help? I mean, if the whole thing, once begun, took a half hour or 45 mins, would there be a real desire to just hang back and do nothing, or would you just pitch in and help so you can move on to other stuff? If you parked your character intending to come back in an hour or so to just get in on the end game/rewards, and the raid was over by then, you may think twice.

Our guild has done an evac-less raid, and there are definite time benefits with not having to exit and reset for each bloom.
Having said that, we ran the first Pinnacle redside raid in quite some time (had it ever been accomplished before on that side?) last Wednesday, and finished in less than 45 minutes including the evacs. So while it does save some time, you shouldn't be talking about raids lasting more than an hour anyway. The blueside raids we lead on Guardian routinely take 35-40 minutes with evac and reset, and have been done in as little as 28 minutes.
If folks can't spend that much time raiding, then they don't really want to do it that badly anyway, IMHO.

Redside Hami has been done before. I think Pinnacle was the first server to take hami down redside once he was released. But that's just one of those things I heard from someone and I have no confirmation.

The recent raid was great. Very smooth and I really enjoyed it. I would love to see blue side raids comeback but someone is gonna have to step up and take the lead.
Like I said I will run an agro or a kill team, just not a raid. Also we will need to find an available Vent server for the team captains to be on, it helps with the coordination. So if you want to run a team or a raid, GET VENT.

Our guild had fun leading the redside raid, and thanks to folks like yourself, we had a very smooth time of it (which is not always the case when running a public raid). We will definitely be running another redside at some point in the near future, and hope you and yours will be in attendance.
I know a couple of folks from my guild who have lead successful blueside raids on Guardian have transferred toons over to Pinnacle and are going to be assisting with the raid on the 11th. I'd help out myself, but I have class that night, and won't be back in time. If folks listen, though, I'd be surprised if you don't have success. And once people get a taste of that again, they won't want to give it up.

Yes Pinnacle was the first to do the red side raid. I announced it for the first sunday after i9 was released. WWE (who?) tried to trump us by doing it the night before but they failed miserably. Fashionsense was kind enough to get the teams set up. Here's a few pics. I'm the stone brute in the middle. Oh we didn't have nukes or inventions, and we got it on the first try.

Thanks, XFunk. I knew I had heard that it was done right after i9 was released on Pinnacle, but couldn't remember from whom. I'm guessing it was you.

So is another redside raid gonna happen in the near future? I renewed a week too late for the last one.
