Knitwit is brilliant! Love the name, the concept and the execution of the full body and bust that you had done. The knitting needles and the buttons are killer details. That Janet Planet is delicious like a piece of candy and The movement of the gas around her is beautiful! Poor Airhead oughtta be holding his breff.

Thanks Muse! I am also holding my breath for more Ferreter art, I love the concept and the colours. Thanks Caemgen - PsiBug was spot on describing Gambear1er's abstraction as 'candy'. And again you're welcome, Attache, it took two to marshmallow. Thanks Lord Goat, hopefully plenty more to come. And thanks PsiBug, Knitwit is developing well. although I struggle to find ways to foil bad guys using sewing. But she she'll find a way, she's smarter than me.

And now, to put the threads in this thread, here are Airhead and Knitwit by Layla!



These two have never appeared together before now. And what a wonderful way to do it! Something like the Airhead chew toy appeared in an early picture I got from Wakabee, inset above. The toy reappeared in the industrial style Airhead by Tim Kelly, lying at Airhead's foot (also inset). To actually have the yarn-doll coming my way is neat. Airhead's hair is by special request, and looks amazing.

For Knitwit, the craft connection is more obvious. Just see the Knitwit pose in Layla's thread. They look so cute together. Knitwit would probably want an Airhead toy to use as a voodoo doll.

Thanks Layla for making something I never knew I needed, and doing it so well, and thanks Stone Daemon for helping me get hooked! These toys are likely to appear more in future 2D art.

Thanks Stone, Lord Goat and Caemgen! The two plushies / dollywogs continue to cause havoc in the spare room any time nobody is looking. Here's the picture I posted of their arrival in Singapore from Layla's yarn doll thread:

Also, since it's been a while since I updated this thread, here is another cross-post-pic. Caemgen commissioned the most amazing Airhead, and I have been happy to revisit Caemgen's thread anytime I want to see him again, but here he is just to make this collection complete:

Caemgen's comments on dA linked through that picture are spot on. I'll add that Airhead and Gorm are a logical combination considering the slang definition of 'gorm'...

Next up, shiny and new, it's Airhead by Shane Braithwaite! Fireheart is largely to blame (and congratulate) for encouraging me to pursue this. I'm very glad I did. Even with Fireheart's suggestion of "Airhead's serious side", I had imagined something less so. I had described a waist-up portrait of Airhead making a CoH 'invention', but with a ragdoll Airhead tied to his temple using his tie (since two heads being better than one), and looking very stressed out. But in the absence of a thumbnail the result turned out more like the invention-ing screenshots I provided. I don't mind at all, Airhead is much more of a dude this way! Shane's talent is cool realism, so this is the right result, I'll try someone crazier for the comic version. That can wait. Shane's talent for fabrics is mind-blowing.

Gambear1er created the weirdest ever picture of Airhead (with Janet Planet, and an irradiated marshmallow) a couple of pages back in this thread. With his current Limited Commission (limited in scope, not really in number) 100-sketches project it was an opportunity to add Knitwit to the fray:

The pose is Domo's, but the shiny is absolutely unique. I'm inclined to colour it myself. I will need to find a suitable drug first. Perhaps Skittles.

I had high hopes of sticking with the Fan Art contest this year, but after one entry I found I couldn't keep up with my work, this forum, and the other forum where the contest moved to. Made worse by this forum's login process being broken for Singtel users (almost everyone in Singapore), so that I can only post this at work. Where I am not, now, of course, since I am working very hard. Anyway, my first drawing garnered a minimum of votes (understandably, the competition was intense!):



Yet, with all the thick skin of my hero, I persevered. Estivador (whom you may remember as Wakabee) did a brilliant job bringing the picture to life, as well as adding some extra characters:



The new cameos stole the show

Thanks BrandX, Chris and Caemgen! It was an older idea, and took a little while to complete, but it is wholly out of my head now. Now I can start filling it with new ideas. Villains, cameo easter eggs... maybe even scenes that make sense to someone other than Airhead! Or maybe not.

Hello again!

My next commission came through incredibly quickly, even with a round of edits. It was my Belarussian stalker, Baku Fu who appears in game as:

He looks like a basic cossack pirate, so I needed a commission to reflect his more complex personality. Adam Masterman did a spectacular job! The image links to dA, where Adam has a bigger image. He has also faithfully captured some highlights of Baku's issues over there:

Baku Fu is hiding his shashkas in his wooden leg ahead of an assignment, while keeping an eye out for the wife. Thanks Adam! Adam may still have his bust commissions going if you're quick. He certainly is.

Those of you watching the CoH deviantart group will have already seen this posted by taghuso, but for completeness (adding to the pyre) here is... Kenning! The um, Scotsman. And mad scientist. And (in CoH) warshade. Carrying a pregnant Nictus. Taghuso did a fantastic job improving on the screenie and imbuing Kenning with just the right personality.



I hear Champions can do an actual pom-pom. Unfortunately both types of server login time out for me every single time so that's moot.

Posting because I still can!

I will be here at the end. Sadly work has been overwhelming so I have not been here as much as I'd have liked. Earlier I also looked around for another home. Airhead seemed like a natural fit to the Trek universe. His schtick is everyone getting along, his costume wouldn't take too much to mould to Trek, and the backstory involves inspirations of humanity.

So now he's found a place where everyone else wears armour and carries massive firepower indoors. Most of his time is spent murdering people in space. And the comms resembles a kindergarten, only more bigoted and misogynist, worse spelling and completely chewed up by the profanity filter.

Anyway, he does his own thing (space is lonely), flies a bubble-headed space ship despite its limitations (bubbles are cool), and looks forward to future stories written by Sean McCann.

He feels okay about playing for free, since he paid for a "lifetime sub" on Champions to the same company but isn't accepted using the exact same login which works just fine for STO. In soul I am really still here. Love you all. Love this place. Backed up this thread
