Does the yellow tower on the STF give recluse psi defense? (In particular I'm thinking about mesmerize)

According to City of Data:

coh.redtomax.com/data/powers/power.php?id=V_Arachnos.Protective_Generator.Dispe rsion_Bubble_Real

It's Defense to Melee, AoE, Ranged, and "All Types."

But we've seen in the past how "All Types" sometimes doesn't include Toxic or Psi, so... I don't know.

I remember Sarrate posting on this way back. The orange (aka yellow) tower does give Mag protection.

Not to sleep. The defense is what worries me.

Interesting thought, but I'm not sure it's practical thanks to the huge +def bonus. I can't remember offhand if Mesmerize has a positional tag or not... the only power that immediately springs to mind is Dominate as psi only with no positional tag.

The easy way to test this would be to run the STF as normal and try to sleep LR... if you're able to hit him reliably then your question is answered. Frankly I'd be a little surprised if it worked myself but the old saying about 10 reasoned arguments and one case of actually finding out applies here.

All Mind Control attacks are nonpositional.

According to paragonwiki http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Statesman%27s_TF, Orange tower gives 200% Def(ALL) buff.
Orange SW of Recluse Dispersion Bubble Real +200% DEF(All) (hardcapped at 175%), +17.7 Protection(Hold, Immobilize, Disorient)

Guess I should test it out... now to find someone with a mind controller...

Unless they changed it, it doesn't work. We tried it back when and failed. Not to say that a full team of mind control toons couldn't manage it, but we had several on the team and never fazed Recluse.

It makes sense, if orange tower grants hardcapped 175% def to ALL. You have only 5% to-hit chance with Mass Hypnosis.

Good to know, thank you. I assume it was the high defense that was the problem?

He also has a natural mag 50 protection to most, if not all, mezzes, on top of PToD. Then you're also running into things like purple patch scaling which makes stacking multiple sleeps much harder. Granted, sleep duration is probably the most ideal on that front.

Sleep and immobilization are holes in the AV Resistance (Pink Triangles of Doom). If that particular AV wasn't given a specific extra protection v. immob or sleep, then they are very easy to sleep or immob.

The Orange Tower doesn't add any extra Sleep protection, thus, Recluse would have been easy to sleep if it weren't for all that high DEF making it nearly impossible to hit him in the first place.

If the Orange Tower is destroyed or phased (caged, black-holed, dimension-shifted), then Recluse should be relatively easy to sleep.

A good point, maybe I'll make a mind/sonic or mind/FF...

Yeah, forgot about that. He still has the natural 50 protection however. And actually, I suppose that means he has a natural 54 protection, being an AV.
