Attention Writers: Wassy Needs YOU

Hey writing-types, I need a little help if you're interested. I'm taking a Children's Book Illustration course at college this semester, and the semester-long project is creating a 32-page dummy children's book (like one would submit to a publisher). So... I need some text! We're allowed to use classic fairy tales or non-fiction subjects, but that's a little dull. We're also allowed to use original work with permission, and that's way more fun!

Would anyone care to write a short story for use in this project? I want to do a book for early readers, ages about 6-8, so at the most a paragraph or two of large print text per page (or even no text on a couple pages). Most of the book is black and white comps, but at least 2 pages need to be fully illustrated, and I thought that might be interesting for someone.

Subject is flexible, just keep the age group in mind. Unfortunately, I would need this by Monday, Feb. 1st at the latest. So if nobody is up for it, no hard feelings. Just thought someone might be interested. Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks

UUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHH! HULK ANNOYED!

This seems like a perfect opportunity to expel my creative juices - no matter how dirty that sounds - and I do love to do that, but unfortunately as I am known to do all the time, I have allowed myself to get snowed under by my own work...In fact I should be finishing off an essay right now...Meh, I may just get down to work and see how things progress.

You may be pleasantly surprised by a story in your inbox on Monday morning, but that eventuality has a very strong chance of not occurring. If I do get round to doing it, do you have a particular theme in mind?

Bad Voodoo by @Beyond Reach. Arc ID #373659. Level 20-24. Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging.

No particular theme in mind. And don't kill yourself over it! I'll be happy with any surprises, since I'm asking people for this purely out of the kindness of their hearts. No demands =)

Any particular word count?

Um... I'm not completely sure. Like i said, it would have to be about one simple paragraph (or less) per page, 32 page book. Also, large type. Going for 6-8 year old demographic. The artwork is the focus of the project, so even a pretty short story that has an interesting theme would do quite nicely.

Sent something to you via PM, Wassy. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but if it turns out to be useful, then that's cool.

Silent Sickle; Natural scrapper
And many more.

Hmmm.... very tempting.

As I already write little stories for my daughter's bedtime, this idea appeals although she's way below your prospective age range.

If I can find some inspiration, I'll PM you with some ideas. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck
