What Scrapper to Make

I'm trying to decide what scrapper to take out for my next run. I've managed to work claws/sr and dark/dark to 50 with a fire/fire and claws/regen both at 40 and have been struck by a desire for another claws scrapper to fit a look that hit me tonight but for the life of me I cant figure what secondary to use.

I'm looking for some advice on what to make and why, now I've been spoiled by my claws/sr guys but after doing 2 of those as well as working a dm/sr up a bit I need a change from that concept and have narrowed it down between will power, regen(again) or invulnerability( never tried). I'm not looking at build advice or anything like that just a quick understanding of what it can do that I may not see.

Thanks in advance

a scrapper that ive had a lot of fun with is spine/elec armor

i has 2 DoT toggles, no end issues (my guy runs 7 toggles on average), high resistances, capped resist to end drains, and has kb protection built in (unlike dark armor).

it has plenty of room to slot and i went with the energy mastery for laser beam , basicaly more attacks, but this combo will work with any ancillary pool.

Willpower is primarily regeneration with some S/L resist, +HP and exotic typed defense on top of it. It has Quick Recovery which is slightly stronger than Stamina and minor defdebuff resistance. The set bristles with opportunities to slot for +HP and benefits greatly from slotting for defense. Willpower doesn't benefit from recharge at all, which is why you generally don't see WP builds using extreme recharge attack chains.

Invuln is primarily S/L resist with +HP and typed defense on top. It has decent defense debuff resistance and also some endurance drain and slow resistance. I think Invul really works better for Tanks, due to the 90% resist cap and because as a Scrapper you will get Invincibility (which is your main protection from exotic damage) very late. It benefits a lot from slotting for defense and you can potentially get a build that is softcapped to S/L and probably E/N damage on top of your massive resistances and Dull Pain.

They are both very light on clicks, have typed defense, work well with the Fighting pool and do not have effects that obscure the costume.

I've got Claw/WP, /Dark, /Fire, and /Ela. I've gotta say the Dmg Aura's from dark, fire and ela make them alot more fun then the WP. The Claw/Ela is my newest scrapping toy and he's a joy to play. Frankenslotted atm, so no set bonuses, but eventually will have about 50% rech (with lightning reflexes [quickness clone]) and 35% s/l defense. I think once I get to 35 with the vanguard claws he will look as cool as he feels to play.

I'd definately recommend either Claw/Fire or /Ela for a solid and fun scrap.

Try a Fire/SD. *thumbs up*

I find everything is more fun with shield charge.

Go with Invuln, since you've never tried it. I presume here that you HAVE tried WP since you made no mention of it and made a point of saying you haven't tried Invuln yet.

Kinda sounds like you've half decided on Invuln anyway, and are seeing if anyone has a reason NOT to play it. No reason here, it's a solid set IMO.

I've got a claws/willpower brute, and he is the embodiement of easy mode and packed with extra win. In a game where you must wait till the late 20's to the 30's to start feeling "super", and some late bloomers that it's almost level 50 before you start to rock, this primary and secondary have you kicking *** in the teens. Spin at 6, RTTC/Focus/QR at 16,18 and 20 and once you get those slotted you're a killing machine. I immediately bumped my difficulty slider up in the teens and never slowed down. At almost 30 on my elec/SD scrapper I'm still having a hard time finding a groove and doubt I'll really be ready to take on those large groups until late 30's when I get everything slotted.

And it's possible to slot willpower for defense and if not totally hit the softcap, get real close to it. I managed to softcap my s/l defense, but later respec'ed and backed off on that (down to the mid 30's S/L defense) in favor of more recharge and +HP and liked the results of that much more. And you don't have to worry about slotting for endurance or regen/recovery because your already a beast with QR+Stamina and the regen from RTTC and fast healing. That lets you focus on defense and recharge in your build.
