Dual Pistols! Just curious...

How about, instead of hunks of lead, each "bullet" is actually a package of nano-bots

bundled into a delivery method?

Bingo, instant "healing bullet", "debuff bullet", "buff bullet", and plain old "arresting bullet"

My FF Defender does not technically create bubbles, his original concept was that he has a cloud of vapor around him, and he extends it to deflect shots. He protects allies by extending a "tendril" to stop fire aimed at allies. So the bubbles are not a literal representation of his power.

Dispersion Bubble kind of covers that concept, but I do want to give my allies full protection, so I just assume the bubbles are a symbol, and it just means I am vigilant (heh. pun intended) enough to fire off a shot to deflect the blast as it comes at them. Likewise, although Parry gives you a buff to Defense, you do NOT parry the enemy's attack, it's just a normal attack that looks like a parry.

As such, I see no problem with a "Gun Parry". The question is will it be useful enough to be fit into the set with some of the truly useful concepts the devs have developed for the set, like "Change Ammo". Another issue is, since this is a Ranged set and not a Melee one, would adding Defense to a Blaster or even Defender/Corruptor imbalance the design of those ATs? The devs have expressed concerns about Dark Blast for that reason, although in that case every single power has a protective component, while in this case it would be a single one.

Perhaps rather than a +Def Parry power, a better suggestion WOULD be a -Acc Disarm power. Instead of shooting the incoming bullets, you shoot the gun out of the foe's hand. (Or at least knock it off target)

Devs would post more if they could say "hi!" without people whining because they wanted them to say "hello".

Again, I don't dislike the idea, I just don't think there's a good way to implement it into the game. I actually like it a lot as a concept
Admittedly, I don't think DA and Parry look all that great. And really they look like attacks. And people are using them on anything and everything, even if it's things they couldn't Parry against.

I'd see no difference with Dual Pistols just have a nice looking attack, that does exactly the same thing mechanic wise and it's just called "Deflecting Shot".

An attack that shoots out multiple rounds to deflect what coming after the hero/villain.

Let me put the question like this, then: What do you deflect with this? You can't deflect everything for a variety of reasons, but what, then? Parry deflects lethal attacks to cover swords, bullets and arrows, and it deflects melee attacks to cover non-physical swords and blunt weapons. I can't see bullets deflect melee attacks AT ALL, myself, and it seems a little odd to let them deflect all ranged attacks, partly because it's weaker than Parry and partly because that'll have you deflecting thoughts

Yet again, I like your concept, but I have a hard time seeing it fit into the system.

Deflecting thoughts? What? Psi blasts? If that's the case, you shouldn't be able to 'dodge' thoughts either. To wave away the fact you *can* dodge psi blasts, I just imagine them as psionic manifestated pulses, kind of like how Psylocke can manifest blades of mental energy that can affect physical matter. So, if a pulse of psi energy were propelled at you, I'd imagine intercepting it with a bullet *might* work.

Where the tough stuff comes in is deflecting holds. Most of those don't 'travel' toward you, they simply 'freeze you in a block of ice' or 'encase you in stone'...but then I'd suppose perhaps you're firing through them just as they wrap around you enough that you can break through them normally?

But then how do you shoot through a gravity distortion?
