Just wondering is this is possible

Kind of ... in a way... certainly not directly

Take your inf earnings and cash it in at the horrible exchange rate at the SG registrar

Just curious, but why would you want just prestige? If you disable the xp when exempting you get inf and prestige just like before the change. Isn't getting inf always a good thing?

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

I would do it because it's a way to get MORE prestige. The exchange rate for converting infl to prestige is abysmal. If I could turn off influence to get double prestige, I would.

I think I get more influence from selling drops than from defeating enemies or mission bonuses anyway. A lot more. Especially if I'm fighting 50's where one purple drop can yield more influence than months of missions.

If you turned off XP and turned on SG mode and were over level 34, wouldn't that earn you only prestige?

Nope

Inf gain never drops below 50% in SG mode.

Honestly, one of the quickest ways to earn Prestige for a base is doing things like Borea's repeatable missions in RWZ at "count as eight heroes" (if you have a character that can manage it), in VG mode. Sell all the standard recipes, check pricing on any IO recipes at the Black Market (and sell for appropriate amounts any of the higher valued ones you get), and do the same with any salvage.

On my level 50 tanker, I've probably converted 300-400 million Inf to Prestige with this method. It would be more, but I have done several missions in a row without getting much worth selling at Wentworth's. Still, the Prestige for beating up large groups of Rikti helps.

Considering that xp can be turned off, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to turn off inf. also. This should certainly be a choice available to us. I think this is a great idea.

Turning off xp serves a function, you can stay at a specific level for some reason. I have several toons with xp off so I can harvest the very rare [not rare, but not pentiful] lower level IOs.

Turning off inf doesn't make much sense. If you hate money, go to WW and bid your full amount on an inspiration. Delete it or use it. There, you're broke.

Did you read the rest of the thread? What they are talking about is the option to turn influence off so that you earn additional prestige.

Yeah, I read it, though it's pointless.

Did the devs already set up a system where inf can convert to prestige? Is there already a fixed rate? Was this rate also in place when the CoH economy was much less inflated?

Do the devs consider it being hard to get prestige important?

Prestige is time spent playing. What inf used to be.

Hmmm, when did they change this? Shows you how long it's been since I've played in SG mode at higher levels.

At one time didn't Inf start dropping off starting at level 24 in SG mode until it hit 0 at level 34? (in the snow, uphill, both ways)

Edit: Following the link, I see they changed it in Issue 12. Nice to know I'm not totally off my rocker, hehe. Don't see how I coulda missed this tidbit though.
