Player steals 374 billion, gives it away

As described in this article here

The upshot, if I have it correct, is that someone in EVE Online started up an investment scheme and then took the in-game currency he'd amassed and gave it away before quitting.

I know virtually nothing about EVE, but the idea of this is just sooooo ebil, I thought it needed to be posted here. Along with the appropriate pic:

I do have to say that I'm disappointed that the player who ran off with the dough was not named JoJo.

Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.

Funny you mention that- because Smurphy linked that article in theMarket channel last night talking about how people kept stealing all his good ideas

He gave it away to one "anonymous" guy...

There's a market channel?!

I submit a formal request to join said channel, citing my qualifications but lamenting my lack of tea.

Unfortunately 374 billion in CoH does not appear to be equivalent to $14,000 USD given our hyper inflation.

Last time I read a gold-seller email, it was $50 for 2B. At that price, 374B Inf would be "worth" about $9k. I have no idea what it sells for now, but at that rate, it would be about 560B Inf to equal $14k.

Out of curiousity I googled up one of those sellers. The first one that came up listed a billion for around 20. That puts it at 7.4k USD. I suppose I was a little too hard on our market.

That makes some sense then. I was going off of what the person allegedly said themselves, quoted in the article.
