I have already dug through the wiki for this information for about an hour, so I figured I'd ask here.

Does anyone know the (approximate) drop rate for PvP IOs? I know that only the devs know the actual drop rates, but I was wondering if anyone did any long-term testing to get an idea of where they are.

Also, I hear mentioned that they are based on reputation instead of number of kills, or something to that extent... What are the rules governing how they drop, if not how often they are *supposed* to drop?

Thanks in advance!

Just my opinion, feel free to disregard...

The bit about rep is the fact a defeated character will only have a chance to drop a PvP IO if you get rep for it (so, every five minutes after a defeat or so, IIRC).

Then it's 10 minutes (on you?) before another will drop IF you get one.

Yeah, I don't know how that got made the title, instead of "PvP Drop Rates?" like I originally had... prolly hit the wrong key on my keyboard by mistake or something.

Thanks for the input! Any word on the actual Drop Rates, though?

Ridiculously seldom is about the only thing that's been figured out. Purples drop more often than PvP recipes do, on average. (This is because there are criteria or PvP drops, while any level 47 or above NPC that is not in an AE mission can drop a purple at any time)

From what I've heard, they have about the same actual percentage as a purple drop, but since there are conditions that must be met for a PvP recipe they drop much less often in practice.

Purple drop chances are about 1 in 5000 if I remember correctly. I don't recall the percentage exactly, but you should get one drop for every 5000 enemies defeated on average.

Hi,

yes very low but still random so possible at anytime. I was working on my Longbow Warden 2 gladiator badge last month which requires getting to a PvP rep of 400 ie 400 defeats of a zero rep rated foe.

I had defeated just 38 and been at it for about 50 minutes when ding, I dropped a Shield Wall 3% resistance recipe which then sold at Ww's for 1.38 billion inf.

I then dropped three other PvP recipes at kills number 63 - 216 and 345 for a total of 285 million inf.

I also got 10 salvage pieces and 1 insp!

I was fortunate but there is no reason why you should not be also

Go for it, the reward is worth the effort and I got my badge and subsequently all my Healing badges as well.

Cheers
