How well does this work with pets? Do ranged pets stay at range? Do melee pets try to land and attack? etc...

All around terrible. Goto commands are difficult because the cursor hits the first object within range or stays at furthest range, any pets that want to be in melee will be all over the place, the speed is pretty slow, and -fly will absolutely ruin your day.

I wouldn't say all around terrible. There are some places I like using group fly. I have a Thugs/dark and a Robots/poison with group fly.

Sometimes your pets have a tendency to take the long way around to fight something you want them to directly fly to. Fighting Knives of Artemis is almost too easy with group fly. Make no mistake, especially on my thugs, the caltrops make them absolutely crazy. Another cool thing is to drop in from group fly in a PvP zone situation. I have NOT used group fly with melee range pets myself, but I have a regular teammate who uses group fly with his necro/dark pets.
Fighting itself is not recommended for the -accuracy, but the preparation, getting in position can be very useful.

Thanks for the observations.

I'm not big into flying myself (more of a speedster/jumper) but it seems that my Jetpacking ranged toons seem to do better against big baddies than my grounded ranged toons... just wasn't sure if that kind of advantage would translate over to flying pets.

I was also considering that it might be useful for PvP but was worried that involving vertical might play bonkers on their combat AI.

Personally, I use teamport. I find there is less chance of a bot left behind. This works especially well for melee pet sets, as you can port right into the middle.

Does Group Fly affect non-traditional pets; like Acid Mortars, Beacons, Mines, etc?
