Important contest for fem characters.
might consider having a crack at this.
FFFFFF THIS. I AM ENTERING THIS.
Disregard my saying that I never join contests. This one is actually cool. I would LOVE to have a sculpture of Pirate Cashoo on my desk. ;_; *prays*
Pfft, sharing brings good karma.
![]() Besides, many of us here have no talent and thus can't enter so it'll just be an interesting thing for us to watch... |
You should message them and ask!

I have a question about the rules. . . you said it has to be new, but is that a new character or a new screen shot of a character we already have?
I am just trying to make sure I understand the rules correctly before I enter.

Thank you for your interest in the contest.
It does not have to be a new character. The idea is to have ppl enjoy making a new deviation for the contest and for themselves, and to discourage ppl from re-using stuff already in their gallery. It can be a new or existing character you like. I hope this answers your Q.
>>Must be new work, made specifically for this contest, created after the start of the contest, and submitted by the contest deadline.<<
This is the part that kills me....I can't do art, so would have to commission a piece just for this contest, which stinks.

I dunno there seems to be alot of outs in the contest were the prize defaults to a two year supscription to DA or a DA hoodie instead of the actual sculpture .
I know its boiler plate to cya but it seems a bit off putting to me so while it sounds cool I think i'll pass on this contest .
good luck to all that enter

I hope this clears it up for everyone

my personal take on it is if you are going to have a contest with a very lucritive prize that only a tiny ratio gets.... the prize should be garunteed.
i wished him luck on it, but if I ever considered something like that it would have way less restrictions. ^_^ in fact my next comm is most likely an anthro character ^_^
but if you like to draw at least you have a shot of getting something for a day spent dpoing what you enjoy.
total agreement !
If I wanted a sculpture of my characters, I'd just do it myself! At least that way, I can guarantee it happening.

The Guide to BURN
I have mixed feelings on the out clauses...
The time one could just be a case of covering his own behind in case life gets out of control... Or it could just be an out in case he doesn't feel like following through. I guess one would have to know this guys integrity factor to judge for sure but in the end I would look at this as he's not asking for artwork for his own characters, the only self serving purpose I could see to this contest if he doesn't intend to follow through is to raise his page views/show off his work and it seems to me he'd create more bad will by not following through than benefit he would gain from the views...
As for the number of entries - I think that is reasonable. 200 may be a bit of a large number for a minimum but I don't think one can really expect him to be forced to give away that much of tim, effort and materials if there is only 1 entry to choose from.
In the end, I see little harm done even if he had no intention of following through. As I mentioned, I don't see this as being very self serving - He's asking for people to make deviations for their own characters so the entrants at least should be working on something they enjoy. *shrug*
As for whether or not screenshots are acceptable: Despite EnnVee's query and the response I still suspect he is looking for original artwork entries and not screenshots. I suspect he just didn't get that she was asking about a screen capture of a game.
The reasons I believe this:
CONTEST THEME: Share with me and the dA community your work showing your favorite heroine (a female hero) or female OC in a dramatic pose and/or heroic moment, in either 2D or 3D form, and in either traditional or digital medium. I will choose one among the accepted entries and sculpt her! Best of all, the Winner gets to have the sculpture!! |

Still, good luck to all..!
No, screenshots aren't acceptable, but if you have work commissioned featuring your character, it sounds like you could still enter. Or, heck, you could probably take a screenshot and then do some work on it, too.

please note this is not me.
I thought I would link this because I realize my prices simply can't be met by everyone. I have no idea what this dude actually charges for his work but personally I really like his daily deviation sculpt.
so i realize posting something like this basically could really backfire on me =P So if you don't win please look me up if you decide to go sculpture form (why i would link the competition i don't know.... but people around these parts are to nice to not link something like this to)
His guidelines are rather strict but if your character fits the bill might as well try to get some free work.
^_^
happy drawing y'all
