a reduction lino print of Fenian.
Template taken from a comm he had done of the character.
Was very very tricky
hand printing is fun -
so, off and on over the years i play CoX... (usually 2-3 months a year since release)
I also on occassion get looked up to sculpt peoples characters
Done a few statues
Done a few busts
Done a halloween mask
Done statesmans faceplate
now for the giggles I am going to be doing a traditional lino reduction print of someones character. Yes it has been selected, and started... and they have nooooo idea MUHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I did a jigsaw of a character, jigsaw isnt for me, but i do like reduction so hopefully it comes out well enough to post up.
Anywho... all my work can be found by visiting the link in my sig -
glad you like it.
on a side note... apparently the day i decide to resub for some fun times... the launcher wont work *anger*
and... wtb new camera. but its fun to always get messages "man it looks better in person!" from every single one i do =P -
i took the ball things as being the same trim green, and i used a darker green than the art for trim colors, mostly my call but i would have color corrected were it requested.
the neon and the ball/trim color was a bit different, it seemed mostly that the balls were catching a lot of 'light' to help show their roundness, where i painted in flat colors.
but yeah interpretation + multiple computer screens = minor discreps.
i send the final photo before asking for final payment so if the client wants stuff like that corrected i can do it in an afternoon.
*shrugs* =)
*edit* the dark angels green i used i did use on trim, balls, and belt, it just doesnt really "pop" in photo. what sucks hard is the sculpts always look better in person =( -

-
Annnnnd back =) i've been sculpting hero characters off and on for about a year now and im liking it. I also sculpt masks and props.
So here is my latest.....
Introducing Statesmans mask, Full scale and wearable ^_^
-
^_^
yeah if you have kids or something a sculpy peice of artwork won't be your best bet. But if you dont tend to stumble around and drunkenly pull down your bookshelves itll last. (i just like the plastic ones more since i get yo make and paint myself a copy as well ^_^)
the pieces will be very professionally done. They most likely will be the basis for my Thesis in grad school. (not to mention they will be my road to a 4.0 average for the year) -
mk, so I am all college going again. This quarter I don't think i will have any 'projects for sale' but in about 3 months I should.
Here is the way it works. I am broke... I have to sculpt within certain guidelines but their is usually room to wiggle. that wiggle room could be your character at a much reduced priced.
Classes that it may happen for:
Movie miniatures : full body posed sculpt, 1 off, most likely sculpy
grad project: grad projects are a big deal, and they are totally up to the student.
3d modeling 2: (zbrush rendering)
movie miniatures animation: most likely a posable figure (think claymation)
prostetic (cosplay potential)
I will announce what i need for the class, and what it will cost to do your character over something I design. The cost will be low, especially compared to what they would cost under normal situations. Minus the z-brush most will be about the price as the custom mini busts. In the event more than 1 person wants their character done in the style the class is asking from me i will choose the character i think i can get with the least fuss.
now with everything on that list save grad project and zbrush work, its most likely 1 time sculpts that compared to the minibusts are fragile,(i will obviously make them as secure as possible... but plastic casts are just superior to wear and tear over sculpy)
grad project has its own rules. Literally anything you can think of can be made, and at a fraction of the costs to commission it. the cooler the idea the more likely I am to select it.
when it comes to this project you can actually start hitting me up on DA with your ideas and budget.
all projects will be shipped to you as soon as they can be. If any are selected for display it could take several months before it gets taken out of the case.
this is the only community I am forwarning, so if you have an idea you "must see come alive" you have 4 months to set aside the spare dollars. Official announcements about what classes i will take projects for will be announced as journal enteries. So if you are serious about potentially putting ina bid (no you cant out price bid someone... im going to announce the price as i see what needs done for the class) you should at least watch my journal.
so cool ideas please. ^_^
and im starting my jan fan art entry tomorrow >_> no way i'll finish since i also have to finish kakashi but it should resemble the character i have decided on
best wishes in this new year ^_^ -
Thanks for the compliments ^_^
I leave for the opposite coast (going east) tomorrow.
So if you have any commission inquiries I wont be able to answer them till the 8th.
Next up for me is as a personal project is a tobe (from naruto) mask, or potentially a Kiba (same series) mini-bust
i pray i am interupted with commissions =P -
I see you.
not 100% CoH related... but if you ever want some sort of fiberglass helmet or a CoX mask built, I r your guy.

mmmmm twinkies -
nice piece ^_^
what the story doesn't tell you is that coincidentally the dead thorn members name is Kenny..... -
Quote:LENS FLARES!No, screenshots aren't acceptable, but if you have work commissioned featuring your character, it sounds like you could still enter. Or, heck, you could probably take a screenshot and then do some work on it, too.
(sorry just watched star trek again recently) -
Quote:aye i saw he had two 'out' clauses. The first being under 200 people participating, the second being if he simply cant finish it in 4 months O_oI dunno there seems to be alot of outs in the contest were the prize defaults to a two year supscription to DA or a DA hoodie instead of the actual sculpture .
I know its boiler plate to cya but it seems a bit off putting to me so while it sounds cool I think i'll pass on this contest .
good luck to all that enter
my personal take on it is if you are going to have a contest with a very lucritive prize that only a tiny ratio gets.... the prize should be garunteed.
i wished him luck on it, but if I ever considered something like that it would have way less restrictions. ^_^ in fact my next comm is most likely an anthro character ^_^
but if you like to draw at least you have a shot of getting something for a day spent dpoing what you enjoy. -
-
so i decided on a character to use... now to figure out if i will actually have enough time to sculpt something.
tween akumetsu, kakashi, and moving across the country i cant even start till the 12th >_< and at that point i might have a comm to start on *fingers crossed* neat rabbit character.
mrarg... i wanna do it... i demand more days inthe month >_> -

please note this is not me.
I thought I would link this because I realize my prices simply can't be met by everyone. I have no idea what this dude actually charges for his work but personally I really like his daily deviation sculpt.
so i realize posting something like this basically could really backfire on me =P So if you don't win please look me up if you decide to go sculpture form (why i would link the competition i don't know.... but people around these parts are to nice to not link something like this to)
His guidelines are rather strict but if your character fits the bill might as well try to get some free work.
^_^
happy drawing y'all -
i have a wonderful idea *snickers*
sadly i cant win due to the fact nothing i submit will be finished =P
oh well, you will have to make do with my WiP sculpts. -
go outside the box.
get them done like a totem pole ^_^
each one being a segment of it
