Puppy picks best n worse movies of 2009
Really? Watchmen made your worst list? I enjoyed that and G I Joe but I can understand why Joe made the worst... it wasn't anything particularly amazing... in fact it was nothing but a big live action retelling intended to sell toys... which I found rather fitting for the franchise.
Though why Watchmen? I thought it was a rather well put together movie.

to elaborate further
i like fantastic four 2 UNTIL they showed galactus as a huge cloud instead of giant ..
i liked watchmen UNTIL they changed ending for me the huge aliens was more believable...
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
I think if you look closely the cloud has something of a substance in it that LOOKS like the giant planet eating Galactus. I think since showing him would be kind of anti-climactic then opted for IMPLYING him but maybe they clouded him too much. :P
I can get behind your top picks for best but I liked Wolverine. I think I'd be safe with Knowing at the top? bottom spot though but really 2012 was much awfully-er.
I don't hate Avatar enough to put it in the worst category but I don't like it to put it in tops either. The story was awful and cliched, some of the cgi really bad (Sigourney Weaver's avatar was not good.), and some of the acting was awful too. I would have happily sat through a three hour documentary of Pandora and Na'vi peoples as oppossed to what Avatar was.
Glad you liked District 9. I thought it was a hoot.

counting flaws i put it at number 1
2012 was a bad movie bt im bias vs disaster movies so i even excluded from top 10 might be 11 in my book
Avatar....i get mixed feeling for 1 i liked the story was it overrated yes i do no think it deserves even a B+ but....popcorn movies it was and i enjoyed the 3d
i think up in the air will replace it when i see it.....
and for top ten worse i did manage to leave off the new chipmunk movie
Yes u could sort of see glactus in the cloud but in the books u never got that implied feeling that made me hate it
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
Oh I know. Galactus never really was a very menacing cloud thats for sure. I can't remember did they even SHOW the cloud destroying a planet? We just had to take the silver guys word that he ate planets, not very scary if you ask me, despite the giant holes in the earth.
And Avatar story was way beyond overrated and approachign hackneyed. I expected Ribisi's character to pull out a top hat, cloak and a fake handlebar moustache and begin twirling while saying 'Meh Heh Heh!" or worse,
he could have gotten a black sackcloth robe. >>>
:P I mean they both hated blue people.

I'd probably drop Transformers 2, Wolverine, and I Love You Man off either list, and swap District 9 and Watchmen. A few of the others I haven't seen, but I honestly can't remember that many movies from the past year.

Cameron had good idea but i think 1 he went overbudget 2 he overextended CGI 3 he went cheap on the talent
after 4 years of production this is what you show us?
However the good points of avatar...
1- i like casting earth people as villans
2- the ecology background was interesting
3- scifi!!!
4- aliens and giant puppeh monsters!
5- sigorney weaver!!!!
WOuld have been better if
1- shorter was to long movie
2- aliens had more of fighting chance everyone died in last 15 mins except hero and his girlfriend/wife
3- a betetr story ( they redid cowboy and indian movies but with indians winning)
4 better acting
although...i did enjoy the helicopter pilot the one who got canned from lost

tarantino schlock in no way could be as good as the Watchmen.
Heroes : Angrem (50 Stone tank), Exo Inferis (50 Fire blaster), Exo Proteus (50 ill/emp), IceVengance (50 cold defender)
Villains : AtomBomb (50 Rad/Kin corruptor), Aleks (50 SS/Inv brute), StoneLethal (50 EM/Stone brute), Davroz (50 Bots/Dark mastermind)

watchemn>district 9??????
if they would have stuck to the story it would have been better remember even the author didnt go see it...after what they did to his LXG

Alan Moore never sees any of his movies because he's a freakin lunatic. And they followed the story on Watchmen they just tweaked it. I thought the reactors was way lessy cheesy than a giant octopus with telepathy anyways.

I can agree with your 1,2 and 3 best but the rest leaves me cold. Hangover almost ties Star Trek in my book.
And I thoroughly enjoyed Mall Cop. Kevin James is a genius.
Paragonian Knights
Justice Company
He's a good writer Puppeh but a lunatic none the less. He thinks he is a chaos magician. Moore is a whack job.

Alan Moore is a certifiable genius. The emphasis there is on certifiable, mind. He's a brilliant storyteller, though he has occasionally get a little self-indulgent. But yes, he really is a nutjob. He never likes any adaptations of his works. And I can certainly understand that in the League of Extrodinary Gentlemen, and V for Vendetta had its bad moments.
Still, you'd think by now he'd have learned to keep his intellectual property close to his chest if he didn't like what people did with it.
The Elysienne; Magical controller
Silent Sickle; Natural scrapper
And many more.
Aenigma Rebis: "Actually, Ely's more like Jean Grey. Only... smart."
Because ego doesn't pay the bills. And he can sell the movie rights to his work and then complain loudly about it, having both his cash and ego at the same time.
SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.
Ah, hypocricy. It lets you get away with so much.

Oh! The list was in order from ten to one.
I thought something seemed off about it. It seems much more reasonable now that I understand the display method.
But yeah, most of those I haven't seen, (particularly Watchmen) though I can definately say that I think the best thing to do with the Watchmen would be to see the movie first, THEN read the graphic novel.
I'd planned to see the Watchmen when it was out in cinema but had decided to read the book first and after reading it I just wasn't that interested in seeing the movie.

Truly enjoyed Star Trek.
Didn't enjoy the graphic novel of Watchmen, even though I admit it was an excellent story. As for the movie, too much giant blue p....
I will add after yesterday's movie to the best list: Sherlock Holmes. It was over the top, witty, good dialogue, and the period was nigh perfect. I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't garner some technical nominations regarding cinimatography, period setting, and costuming come Oscar time.
