Wormhole

My gravity control controller just got the wormhole power. I am unsure how to use it. The info states that I plant it behind the enemy and can control where the enemy ends up after it's sucked into the wormhole. Do I target an enemy then plant the circle where I want it to go? Like targeting a teammate then teleporting him to a spot of my choosing?

The way the power works is to target an enemy and activate it, then click the teleport circle somewhere.

It grabs them and a space around them (so other guys can come) and throws them thru to the new spot.

It is great for grouping up as it also stuns them.

To have some fun go to a low level area, target a group of guys and then look up in the air to release them in mid air. It is funny because they get thrown way up in the air and then come bouncing down.

One important aspect of Wormhole . . . during its activation, foes can shoot at you!. Whenever possible, target the baddies, and then hide around a corner or behind something. It works well to then target the reticule at a wall or in a corner, to limit the knockback. As soon as the foes show up, use Crushing Field to hold them in place, as a Stun+Immobilize is the same as a hold.

I have found it to be a fun power on my Grav/Storm. I like to throw them into a corner and turn on Hurricane. While Hurricane debuffs their ToHit, I can pick them off one at a time with GD, Crush, Propel. There are also a lot of strategic uses for Wormhole. You want to make the day for a Traps Defender? Let him set up a "field of death" with his Trip Mines and other traps, and then Wormhole a group of foes into the middle of it.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

You may want to consider using Wormhole in conjunction with Crushing Field. This creates a nice makeshift AoE hold that you can use while Gravity Distortion Field is recharching.

Also I've found this bind helpful for my Gravity Dominator and Controller:

/bind ctrl+lbutton "powexec_name Wormhole"

With this bind you can just hold down CTRL while targetting an enemy, then left-click on the spot you want them to appear. It's really nifty and makes using the power much easier.

Also you might want to slot accuracy and range as early as you can into Wormhole. The extra range can help manage the aggro the power can generate for you.

Thanks for the terrific answers. I have teleport foe on my bots/traps mm and have a blast teleporting critters onto the trip mine. It should be even more fun teleporting a bunch of critters onto a trip mine.

Wormhole is such a fun power. I think it's underrated as a stun and herding tool. Moving the pile to a death zone is one technique. Tar patches, oil slicks, trapper's death fields are all good examples of this. Often tanks complain if you break the aggro of groups off the tank. You can still play nice with tanks in a stationary battlefield. Wormhole your targets right where they stand, or on the ceiling directly above the tank, or against the next closest wall. All three will still stun the group and make the team's job easier.
