Supernatural Events Not Randomizing

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue; it might be server-specific, it might not.

On Virtue, ever since the server crashes near the start of the winter event, every time that I see the banner event announced on the Alerts channel, it's always in The Hollows. It's possible that other events that are happening when I'm not on are rotating like they should be, but for at least the past five days, every time someone triggers the event, it ends up in the same zone.

Anyone else on other servers noticing the same thing? Anyone else seeing the events head to other zones? If it's the latter, then I need to start looking at lottery tickets, because that many in a row means there's a streak going somewhere.

Noticed this, too. Since the Winter Event started, I've counted at least six Supernatural events aunnounced for the Hollows on Liberty server. Haven't seen supernatural events annouced in any other zone.

There won't be any Supernatural events going on in regular City zones while the winter stuff is on. There can't be two events simulaneously, and since there's always presents on the ground, WL or not, it will cancel the Supernatural stuff. Therefore, it will skip to a zone it can go to, like the Hollows. Once the winter event is done, it should resume it's normal randomness.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Ah, that makes sense. Since that limits supernatural spawns to the hazard zones, the odds of it being the Hollows climbs dramatically. Thank you!

It isn't the presents, or even the chance of a Winter Lord, that's stopping it. I saw a Zombie Apocalypse while there were presents on the ground in Mercy Island last week, and I know that Winter Lords can spawn there. Perhaps it's the chance of the Lord Winter's Realm present that is keeping it from happening in city zones, since those don't seem to spawn in Mercy.

During the Halloween Beta, a concurrent event with the Deadly Apocalypse (such as the Steel Canyon fire event) was overriding the navigation display of where to find the banner markers or the final GM.

And so, they set the Deadly Apocalypse to exclusive to other events.

Which still doesn't explain why it hits the Hollows every single time and no other zones. Every day that I've been on, I have seen zero supernatural activity in other zones. I saw 4 in the Hollows yesterday, 3 the day before.

My personal guess is that it picks a random zone and tries to spawn the event before it checks to see if the event is allowed to spawn there. In that case, I could easily see it just falling through the list of zones until it hits one that it's allowed to spawn in - and the hollows is the lowest level hazard zone, so maybe it shows up as the first hazard zone on whatever internal list the game is using.

If that is the case, then every time it tries to spawn the event in a normal city zone, it would spawn it in the hollows instead. That would mean that the only time it would spawn in a non-hollows hazard zone is if it actually picked that zone - and that would definitely be uncommon enough that it would seem that the hollows was the only one spawning.

Of course, that's pure speculation. It might just be bugged, instead.

It also leads me to ask if it's even possible for a Deadly Apocalypse to occur at all on villain side during this event. I haven't played villains near as often as heroes during this event, and I don't have the zone events channels monitored on a lot of the lesser-played characters that I've been playing catch up with old Winter badges on, so I couldn't really say, but if what Zombie Man says is true, it probably can't happen at all in the Rogue Isles right now.

I was about to say this could be tested easily enough, but that made me realize something: I haven't seen a zombie invasion since the Winter Event started. Unless the "Supernatural activity detected" alert covers both events, I've only seen banners pop up in the Hollows. Another odd run of luck?
