The most snow I've gotten this month was a small layer that disappeared the next day. Only about a quarter of an inch.

I wish it would snow here. =(

Is it okay to laugh at all of you and taunt you with the fact that I'm currently wearing shorts and the AC is turned on?

Awww... sounds like someone is jealous. Don't worry Turg, not all of us can live where the weather is actually decent year round.

Boooooo - Over a week later, and some of the roads here are still covered in ice... It's finally getting warm enough to start melting, but because there was so much of it, it's taking freaking forever! =P

Apparently, the last few days have been really good while I've been away. Above-freezing temps and steady rainfall has eroded pretty much all of the road snow/ice, and only left the biggest piles (including the pile on our lawn...). Snow's fun, but ice sucked. Glad it's outta here.

...now send the next winter blast!

I never noticed that umbral actually put his location in the little location space...

texas, huh? that explains everything.

Hey, I'm in Texas too, and a good 3 inches or so of snow came down right before Christmas. It lasted a full day, too, but yeah, driving in the stuff isn't so great.

You've obviously never been to Texas. The difference between an Austin Texan and a rural Texan are about as large in scale as you can get (if you've ever been to Berkeley, California; Austin is like a larger version of it). This completely ignores the fact that there are large tech companies (such as Dell and HP) nestled less than 30 minutes from cattle ranches and military bases all over the place.

Saying I'm from Texas will tell you almost nothing except the weather.

Yeah, but stereotypes are SO handy to fill in the gaps, bro.

*fiddles with his 'Texan Umbral' puppet*

"Wee, im texan umbral, an i don git snow like udder peeps do, woo woo"

...in my mind's eye, it's funny. Then again, I laugh at Potter Puppet Pals a lot too. Which, oddly, inspired the whole puppet thing to begin with...

I'm not sure, but I kinda want you to describe what this puppet looks like...

In my mind's eye, it's Woody from Toy Story, with a scrapper icon over his head.

(Pull a string, and he'll complain about /regen too.)

My goal was almost entirely to agitate you, success.

I flew to (and visited) both Dallas and Killeen (SP?) on a trip to Ft. Hood in support of a Marine unit(which I had shared previous experiences with)'s Regimental shoot just this past june, additionally, my aunt lives in Austin. While I cant say I've visited you, or any area with a demographic of citizens who may bear a cultural resemblance to you, saying I have "obviously never been to Texas" is a factual fallacy.

Squeeze his hand for a particularly long rant involving brutes and theoretical test tube DPS balance.

That's actually a sickeningly good point... after a season of "Storm Chasers" I have no desire to set roots anywhere south of the Mason/Dixon line and east of the Rockies. =/

Which causes more damage? I have no idea; the figures probably balance out for annual impact on a given region, but watching the Pinky of Satan reach down from a black cloud and SMUSH a trailer park? Yeah, I'll take snow and ice any day.

We finally got snow! It's coming down right now. Just a dusting and it'll be gone by this time tomorrow, but this is the earliest I've seen snow since I moved here 9 and a half years ago.

We had a few flurries this morning - just put a dusting on the car, but it really has that "snow" feeling to the air today.

As of yesteday we have had 56.5 inches of snowfall this winter. Most of it coming in the last 2 weeks. I need to move somewhere warmer, I hate cold weather and live in one of the snowiest cities in the US. Looks like we are going to win the Golden Snowball Award again this year.
