Softcap AOE, then enough +recharge to perma mind link. After that slot for whatever suits your fancy.

Softcapping the AoE defense AND getting enough +recharge to perma Mind Link is gonna be extremely costly and not doable with a budget of 70'ish mils.
Instead, just try to get some more AoE defense, as while perma Mind Link is undoutably nice to have, it's also highly overrated thing and not needed for normal gameplay.
What are some relatively cheap sets that give AoE Defense, then?
Also, I was planning on just doing TFs frequently and then buy some LoTG +Rech with Merits so I can get ML up more often, I have plenty of vacant slots to put them in. I'm not looking to perma it, though. To be honest, I'm fairly pleased with how often it's up right now.
If you don't already have one, grab a steadfast res/def for indomitable will, and a set of 6 gaussian's fire control for TT:Leadership. that's 5.5% right there. If you've already got the steadfast, Multistrike for pbaoes gives def to AoE and ranged in its set bonuses, so there's another 1.88%. Detonation is a junk targeted aoe set and also give 1.88% buff to AoE, and you being a widow have several targeted aoes. (in theory).

and if you wanna go for lots of merrits you can 3slot your TP with BotZ (each will give 3,13% ranged- and aoedef

I'm stuck on what bonuses I should try getting on my Fort now.
With Mind Link I have 50% Melee, 46% Ranged and 38% AoE Defense. I'm wondering if I should slot for AoE Defense so I can soft cap it, or go for recharge so Mind Link will be up more.
Keep in mind that this is just for general soloing,teaming,SFs and the like, nothing hardcore like AV soloing, and that I don't have a ton of inf to throw around(would like to spend ~70 mil, but can spend more if needed).
