The (big) problem with regen is no perception and no repel protection. Especially the perception makes a really big deal. It's really annoying to not be able to see half the people in the zone. I don't think there's any question that regen is more survivable than WP. Even the biggest WP lovers have always admitted that. The thing that makes WP better overall is the almost-as-good survivability, combined with the offensive perks. To the OP: Just to make sure you understand, ninjitsu is not bad. It's just the ninja blade part of your original build that's weak. But if you're gonna make a new toon, you might as well do new powersets, so that the PvE won't be as boring. |
if you have an infinite bucket, like i did around i13, (when i rolled and io'd my spines/regen, rad/storm and elec/ea stalker), the performance you can get with the new io sets is astounding. i run stamina-less with tactics and assault and zero end issues.
the pvp sets can add huge recovery bonuses if used right (same is the case with my rad/storm, which can summon all storm stuff or blast without running out of end forever).
if you have money, or you think you can get the money, regen pays off exponentially. first, with the extra heal that wp doesn't get (a 850 pt heal is no joke); second, with the best "oh sh--" button a stalker can get outside of phase: MoG. Add to that how neatly it stacks with shadow meld and the ability to use shadow meld to set up AS's and the only thing that will ever give you trouble will be repel powers.

i dont mind the repel protection but its the perception that gets me. However on a regen OR a WP you have the option to go staminaless, if you slot numi/miracles in fast healing. Might have to go easy on the toggles if you do but its possible, so you can make room for tactics on a regen.
BB, do you have tactics on yur regin?
I think if you can get away with not taking stamina (and getting tactics) due to really good recovery bonuses, then yeah, regin can't be bet. For those times where you really need to AS a FF or storm, you have MoG.

He's not purpled out or anything, but has a pretty good build. Anyone ever try it?

i just wish we still had free 50s.
it looks pretty good on paper, but it will really need ios (1500 hp minimum, heavy procs, a bit of dmg and high recharge for max AM uptime).
